A retina-scorching retro-inspired arcade multiplayer affair, Starwhal is now available for digital pre-order on Xbox One. Offering epic narwhal battles in space for up to 4 players, Starwhal promises "ALL-OUT MAYHEM". In CAPITAL LETTERS.

"This Digital Entertainment Object for Home Console Hardware is all about love, respect, and ALL-OUT MAYHEM," the Xbox Games Store blurb boasts. "Starwhal is the number one local multiplayer couch gaming experience featuring marine mammals in outer space."

We're not going to dispute that for a second. Starwhal will be serving up its multiplayer madness with over 25 arenas, four game modes, 32 solo challenges, leaderboards and 90-odd costumes, when it launches for Xbox One on 9th December for $11.99/£9.59. You can pre-order it here.

  • Really hope this comes to games with gold at some point. Its awesome and im happy to pay for it, but trying to convince 3 other friend to might be difficult
  • As long as this doesn't turn out like that dreadful So Many Me, I'm thinking this'll be a day one purchase. Sheet, just noticed it's local multi only >_>. I'm covered but local only sucks.
  • @9 crap I didnt realise it had NO online, I thought it was just saying it was a very popular local multiplayer game. Unfortunately a multiplayer game with no online = never ever buying it for me. What a shame for a game that looks like such incredible fun.
  • No online oh no
  • Can't wait for this! I got it on Steam but to play this through the living room with everyone will be great. I love couch multiplayer games.
