Atari and Starbreeze's Assault on Dark Athena is just over a month away for those folks in North America, so seeing more gameplay to entice you in is par for the course.

The newly released gameplay clips show plenty of stealth, bloody hands and even a bit of mech style robot bashing in the third and final clip, so nearly enough to make your mind up either way.

We also added a few new Riddick screens of the six main characters which can be found in the gallery here.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is available in North America on April 7th and the 24th in Europe.

  • The achievement list killed this game for me. I really was looking forward to it too.
  • Awesome.
  • @1 how do achievements ruin a game? Game looks pretty cool.
  • @ #3 Because all multiplayer achievements do is promote boosting/cheating/non-teamwork/etc... thus ruining the multiplayer experience for the non-boosters/cheaters/etc. They do nothing "good" for the game, the gameplay, or the community.
  • @3 When you really like some game you want to play it until you've gotten 100% of its collectable things. But if the things are really hard to get you get very frustrated and angry, and eventually you start to hate the whole game, and think "Why did I buy this in the first place?". That's how. I personally don't usually want to get full gamerscores at all costs but at the moment I'm attempting to get full gamerscores from Gears Of War 2 and Bionic Commando: Rearmed (hard!).
  • Silly achievement list or not, I'm getting this.
  • Mind boggling achievement list or not, I'm definitely picking this up.
  • Yes look awesome. But it's truth the multiplayer achievements look hard.
  • I think this looks bad.
  • i dont understand people who dont get a game cause the acheves are bad the acheve, ents dont make the game stop being such achevement hoes........ok this game looks good but i never played the first one so idk if i will understand the whole story but still might pick this up
  • Achivements dont ruin a game for u unless ur a whore
  • It's hard to understand something unless you actually read the reasoning behind it. Let's try again: "Because all multiplayer achievements do is promote boosting/cheating/non-teamwork/etc... thus ruining the multiplayer experience for the non-boosters/cheaters/etc."
  • @#10 the game includes both stories the original escape from butcher bay and assault on dark athena so your not missing out on anything.. @#5 just because you love a game doesnt mean you have to 100% it you can do as much as possible and still love the game. Personally yes the achievements are hard but it definatley wont ruin my experience of the game.
  • The achievements look hard, but i'm spending 60 bucks on the 2 campaigns and the badass MP modes, not the achievements. Achievements were meant to be a reward for completing stuff, so stop complaining.
  • #5 your right. with some games i really love them but after a while when i am trying too go for a chievements, collectibles, high scores or just general gameplay i get really angry if its too hard. i end up getting really angry and i remember an incident from when i was about 7 where i smashed my gran turismo 1 (ps1) against the wall. things that are too hard ruins games for me. but thats just my opinion
  • Does look like a pretty sick game. Sorry; games.
  • Hmm... I might get this game since I thought the first one was quality, the achievements look retarded about half way through the list and the only ones that look "difficult" are the bunch where it says something like "get the first kill and last kill and every kill and win and shit" other than that, it looks like a pretty standard list to me and wouldn't really put me of the game.
  • @#4 I say, just because the game has crummy achievements, doesn't make it a bad game. It is your choise whether you decide to go for those achievments or not. If you don't wanna, than don't say its the games fault for putting them in. ~Gex.
  • looks bad, especially the second vid... "we can play this game all day" he says while waiting for you to kill is friend, to attack you only after that..
  • You guys should be awful, if you will skip a good game (seemingly or not) just because the achievement list is bad you are ADDICTED.
  • Not playing a game because you can't get all the achievements is retarded, especially considering achievement points mean absolutely nothing.
  • Can't wait to play this game. I never got to play the original but im a huge fan of Riddick and Vin Diesel so it's a must try.
  • @1,@4,@12- I think its true that boosting takes away from MP, but online achivs r also a great idea i've met many friends by helping other gamers. You want single player achivs only in games, then every one gets 1000 in it and its not that great of an achievement IMO.
  • From what I have gathered from playing the original on Xbox, its really mainly a single player game. As far as multiplayer wise it looks to be very generic. Multiplayer achievements hurt the overall experience, you play through the game on the hardest difficulty, get all those stupid collectibles, etc and you end up with 480 points out of 1000. The rest are "Kill 10 trillion opponents online whos gamertag begins with the letter Q." Yea I suppose that it's all and well that they want to reward you by playing the game online, but make sure that it's worth suffering through. And if it's really mainly a solo experience, let the people earn 800 offline. I mean how many of you remember Halo 3 matchmaking when it first came out? "Hey can you let me kill 3 of you with the Spartan Laser?" and then
  • Looks pretty cool.
  • Seriously, achievements are supposed to be difficult, that's why they are called ACHIEVEMENTS. You shouldn't buy a game because it has easy achievements, you should buy it because the game is good.
  • @ #23 How many people don't have 1000/1000 in CoD 4? Just because a game has all SP achievements doesn't mean it'll be an easy 1000 or that everyone can get 1000. Again, this isn't about difficulty, as all the non-readers seem to see. It's about ruining the game experience. If there's a strong MP, there's no reason for MP achievements, since all devs use them for is to get you to play online when their MP is weak. Halo excluded.
  • *seem NOT to see.
  • Okay seriously guys put down avatar and if an achievement is difficult it gives you more satisfaction in completing it and for the comment about boosters it looks like you can do it in a private game (if they come with a private option) and then you don't have to worry about the boosters and just play the game. Also from what I can see only about 25% of the achievements actually specify multiplayer and you may be able to do the rest in both.
  • @#21 The first person to get 1,000,000 GS gets a key chain. And who doesn't love key chains? Achievement are made in my opinion to challenge the gamer. A good example is playing mile high club or the whole COD4 game on veteran. I don't know about anybody else but I personally wouldn't try to play through the whole game on veteran if there wasn't a achievement for it. They set goals for the player(s) to try to accomplish.
  • @9 I agree.
  • vi demon iv, i see u post on every riddick article and im not gonna bash u for ur hatred of MP achvs cuz i dont like them either, but i seriously hope, that u, as a gamer are not going to NOT play this game only because the achvments are bad. please.
  • @#32 I this guy post on alot of the front page news, and all of everything he posts either seems negative, or it doesn't, but turns into a flame war anyways. Personally, like I said before, if you don't like the achievements, DON'T DO THEM. No one forces ANYONE to do them, so don't rant about them being to hard.
  • So, are you saying you didn't play games before achievements came around. Don't sound like much of a gamer to me. Not playing a game due to achievements is like saying you aren't going to play because you heard the credits are too long. When you start playing games for achievements instead of the enjoyment of playing, it's time to stop wasting money on games all together.
  • Wow.... First off, I don't see a flame war at all. Second, I only express my opinions. To each his own. Third, it seems you've also failed to read anyone's reason for not liking MP achievements and not playing games with them. In MY opinion, they ruin the MP experience by encouraging boosting and cheating. I'm not choosing to not get this game because I think the achievements are hard. I'm choosing not to get this game because I think the MP achievements will ruin the MP experience for me. Please, all I can ask of you people, is read other people's comments before replying to them in inappropriate ways.
  • Plus, how is multiplayer boosting any different from your TMNsT, Avatars, CSIs, Cars, and your Meet the Robinsons? To me, that's single player booting. Unless you're nine or something... Which may explain those games association with Halo: same demographic.
  • Single player "boosting" doesn't affect others. It doesn't ruin their game they're trying to play. It doesn't ruin, what is supposed to be, ranked matches. It appears there is someone here interested in flaming, that someone is not me. I just like to share my opinion and see other people's opinions. That's what comments and forums are for. Now Halo is a kids, boosting game? I'm sorry, you lost me there. While I feel the Halo community, in general, is extremely immature and full of, to put it nicely, jerks, it doesn't even come close to as bad as the CoD or Gears community. I don't know why you're so upset about my opinion Burgerchamp, but please refrain from the flaming. That's not what this site is about.
  • @5 one word - GameFly
  • cool, might buy it
  • Who's the bald guy in the video?
  • this game looks sick!!!
  • YES!!! AN FIRST PERSON GAME THAT STILL KNOWS THAT COLORS OTHER THAN THE POOP SPECTRUM STILL EXIST! It's dark but has a surprisingly large color range...definitely graphical + for me.
  • @#36 "I'm choosing not to get this game because I think the MP achievements will ruin the MP experience for me." Your caring more for the achievements than you are for the game. You proved everyones point. Achievements don't make or break a game because in the end of the day, your ALWAYS have a decision whether you feel like getting them or not. Whether you feel like "boosting" or not.
  • graphics = awesome ai = look like dumb asses
  • @28@38- Then don't get the game if other people can ruin your experience. I go to another lobby or game if I don't like what they are doing in a game but these people also paid money for the game and I believe if thats what they want to do then its their choice. Not every1 boosts. And I know this is a achiv site but i'll still play a game even if i can only get 100gs i'm a fan of video games not just achivs. Also you've stated your opinion 15 times you don't have to respond to every post.
