Star Wars Battlefront Gets a Hotfix to Squash Instant Level 60 Bug

In the wake of the enormous Star Wars Battlefront update laying the groundwork for the launch of the new Outer Rim expansion, now available for Season Pass holders, DICE has now issued a hotfix to address a bug that has enabled some players to instantly rank up to the game's raised level cap of 60.

However, while getting to level 60 in the blink of an eye sounds good, those same players were experiencing the game crashing at the end of every round they played. Clearly, that bit is not so good. The new hotfix saw the servers going offline for 30 minutes, but now it means that ranks have been reset to what they were previously and the problem has been fixed.

"We apologise for any inconvenience but this step is necessary so that you can properly gain levels again and avoid crashes at the end of rounds," said Community Manager Mat Everett.

Star Wars Battlefront's Outer Rim expansion adds four new maps in the two new locations of Jabba's Palace and Sullustan factory, as well as new heroes Greedo and Nien Nunb, as well as new weapons, Star Cards and more. It'll be available for non-Season Pass holders on 5th April. Bespin and Death Star expansions are set to follow later in the year, with a fourth, untitled DLC set for early 2017.

  • The level is useless anyway so why bother cheating
  • could this have been used to instantly get the level 50 achievement?
  • I suspect that with each DLC the level cap will go up by ten and the last DLC to have a level increase of 20 an achievement for rank 100. Love the new extraction mode.
