Woulda thought Doom 3 would have been a free gift for pre-ordering Doom 4Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 05:39 PM
Impressed. Just not by Monaco (have not played yet but DLd when it was free). I just want to play Heretic again *sad*Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 05:44 PM
@1 Pretty sure pre-ordering through Xbox gets you Doom and Doom 2. Just nice to see more games.Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 05:44 PM
do anybody know if you can play doom 1 & 2 off the doom 3 bfgThursday, April 14, 2016 @ 05:51 PM
This is cool. It reminds me of when they made original Xbox games BC on the 360... because DOOM3 for the original Xbox worked better on the 360, as the game was designed with a 16x9 display option. I was really disappointed the 360 version did NOT have co-op over Xbox Live, as the original Xbox version did. At least "DOOM 3: BFG Edition" (which included the DOOM & DOOM II arcade games) completes that set (which is why the game only yields 600gs by itself). I hope Microsoft has a team (secretly) working on making the original Xbox games work on Xbox One (as long as it doesn't take anyone away from making 360 games BC). It would be awesome, as there are some really good games for that console... and worth playing again - regardless of no achievements for doing so! "Thief: Deadly Shadows" NEVER played right on the 360!Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 06:03 PM
@1 I could have sworn it was.Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 06:10 PM
@4: Of course not.Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 06:12 PM
@7 well i just put in my disc in it only install doom 1 & 2 and not 3 0_0Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 06:12 PM
I wonder if they're gonna announce Doom 3 as a preorder bonus for Doom 4. I know they already said Doom 1 and Doom 2 will be, but hey, if preordering Quantum Break got you the entire Alan Wake series, I don't see why preordering Doom 4 wouldn't get you the entire Doom series lol I already have Doom 3, so it's not a huge deal, but as an admittedly lazy fuck, having it digitally would be sweetThursday, April 14, 2016 @ 06:14 PM
yawnThursday, April 14, 2016 @ 06:39 PM
Doom 3 is not available digitally, so they can't offer it as a pre-order bonus unfortunately.Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 07:02 PM
@11 Makes sense. I remember when they used to include bonus games on the disc.Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 07:03 PM
Brilliant news! I never got around to playing Doom 3 properly on the X360, but I do own it and played a lot of the PC version. Excited to finally be able to get the MP achievements, providing people play online, haha. ;)Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 07:09 PM
Has anyone actually managed to install it yet? When I put the disc in it just tries to load up Doom 1.Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 08:31 PM
Doom 3!Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 09:17 PM
@4 Yes, the disc has all three games on it.Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 09:36 PM
Protip: When you install Doom 3, it installs Doom 1 and 2 as well.Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 10:15 PM
More games that no one asked for! I'm not complaining just dont see the point in ms asking people to vote for what they want the most to go bc and then being completely ignored!!Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 10:58 PM
Wait for shit games like Call of Duty Black Ops 1&2 and Skate 3 to be announced so people well shut up about themThursday, April 14, 2016 @ 11:17 PM
@3 I know you can off of disc based but can't confirm for digital, sorry.Thursday, April 14, 2016 @ 11:19 PM
Sorry that was @4.Friday, April 15, 2016 @ 12:41 AM
@19: They will be announced shortly, BO1 and Skate 3 are in progress right now. lol Skate 3? dafuqFriday, April 15, 2016 @ 01:18 AM
@18: Microsoft never said the voting would have any impact on which games were emulated, or when. All they are using the voting results for is to show publishers that there is interest in that game coming to the BC program so they can get permission.Friday, April 15, 2016 @ 04:06 AM
To download doom 3 off the bfg edition put the disc in, it'll start doom 1, at least it did for me because I already had it installed, hit the home button and scroll down to Install disc.Friday, April 15, 2016 @ 05:51 AM
@22 skate 3 is still one of the most popular games people buy on 360 and px3. behind CoD and GTA. thats at least what I see when I look at my stores sales numbers. This BC thing started as a good idea, but I see what is happening now with it... it is mostly being used as a marketing tool. I bet I know what happens when they announce a release date for ME Andromeda and Red Dead 3... anyone? Although I can't really complain about them giving away free games when you buy the new ones, wish they would just make them playable when ready, not just to promote releases.Friday, April 15, 2016 @ 07:07 AM
Think I have a doom for the original xbox xDFriday, April 15, 2016 @ 07:11 AM
"it is mostly being used as a marketing tool." ermm...well yeah! Did anyone REALLY think anything else?Friday, April 15, 2016 @ 07:11 AM
Vikings and Spec Ops: The Line would be great if they went BC. I'd be super happy because I got those both for under 10 bucks but I'm obviously too lazy to go on my 360 just to play em. Either way, this is a welcome update.Friday, April 15, 2016 @ 08:56 AM
hell yesFriday, April 15, 2016 @ 09:41 AM
The more the merrier, but we all need RDR and COD to be BC asapFriday, April 15, 2016 @ 12:09 PM
@28: I liked Vikings when it released but went back a couple years later and it didn't hold up. The mechanics would probably seem bad by today's standards.Saturday, April 16, 2016 @ 06:43 PM
@27 I was hoping they would use it as a way to sell consoles... throw as many games out as soon as possible. They pretty much sticking to add a 360 game when a related X1 game is otw. At least with the bigger titles. I know quite a few ppl just waiting for "thier game" to go bc, then they are going to buy the One.Monday, April 18, 2016 @ 04:11 PM
Doom 3... It's about damn time!Tuesday, April 19, 2016 @ 06:51 PM
@32 Same. Ive got 360 games that i love that were not so popular which now I feel that will never get backwards support. Kinda disappointed with the games list so far.Monday, August 22, 2016 @ 12:02 AM
I too am disappointed in the backwards compatibility. However im glad doom 3 made it on this list.

Two new games have been added to Xbox One’s backwards compatibility list; Doom 3: BFG Edition and Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine.
The news means that if you already own Doom 3: BFG Edition or Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine for Xbox 360, you can now play them on your Xbox One.
The news also means that if you buy the Xbox 360 versions of Doom 3: BFG Edition and Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine, you will be able to play them on your Xbox One.
I think we've covered all the scenarios now.
Here’s our live list of all the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility games.
