Konami has announced that Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 will be heading onto the pitch later this year, bringing with it a host of new features and improvements. This year's tagline and 'creation concept' is 'Control Reality', which in simple terms means that Konami is looking to achieve a higher level of realism in its control and authenticity.

"The immersion in the game presentation and interactive, tactical elements enhance the experience for the player, as the product aims to maximize the fun in playing against any player in every way," says Konami. "The industry leading Fox Engine again powers the series to reach new heights across the large amount of improvements, and with PES 2017 users will be able to experience real football for the first time in a video game."

Among the new features and gameplay changes are 'Real Touch', which sees different players controlling the ball in unique ways; 'Precise Pass', with real ball physics and other factors determining speed and accuracy of passes. "Passing is an art form in PES 2017," Konami adds. "The pass that is made on the best situation and timing will generate a perfect trajectory, creating a great satisfaction when a killer pass is made."

Visuals and player movement will also receive an upgrade, with player models, lighting, crowds, pitches and stadiums all "totally revamped", while hundreds of new animations have been added to players and keepers. Goalies will also be treated to "a great jump in quality" with added motions and animations, and 'Total Team Control' will enable you to adjust the attacking and defending mentality of your team on the fly.

'Corner Kick Control' enabling you to control set piece strategies during corners, and 'Adaptive AI' learning how you play round out the new features for PES 2017. Adaptive AI could be a big one too, as Konami claims it "will change sports games forever."

Konami will be officially premiering PES 2017 at the 2016 PES League World Finals in Milan this weekend, with more details to follow at E3 in June. For now, check out the first screenshots here.
