talk about good things come to those who wait...I bought SI at full priceWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 12:23 PM
Haha!Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 12:20 PM
I hate people that complain they payed full price for something when the price gets reduced months later. You bought it early, you obviously wanted it. You took that risk. Kinda reminds me of the iPhone price reduction. The sad thing is that the complainers actually got a refund.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 12:26 PM
i got bored of oblivion tbh. then i got knights of he nine and loved it again. got shivering isles today. BEST GAME EVER!!!Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 12:18 PM
Horse armor double the price....wtfWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 12:28 PM
horse armor double the price, that got a laugh out of me. someone should buy it!Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 12:31 PM
Alright, double price horse armor! I'd be all over that if I had Oblivion! XDWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 12:33 PM

i just gamefly'd this... but by the time i come around for it, it will be too late =/Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 12:34 PM
I've been wanting some of those houses....Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 12:39 PM
It's just a shame that the game is so bug ridden its almost unplayable :(Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 12:40 PM
@20 theres nothing stopping you from buying the DLC BEFORE you get the game from Gamefly! ;)Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 12:14 PM
i mayby going to by Shivering Isles sins i have been waiting to get it. but i haven't the mony :(Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 12:47 PM
I bought SI the minute it came out, and all the DLC a few days before SI. It should have released a new DLC instead, but good for people who haven't played them. At 15$, Shivering Isles is well worth buying.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 12:53 PM
FINALLY!Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 12:58 PM
Sweet haven't bought this yet.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 01:08 PM
For 250gs I am still waiting for the fire sale.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 01:13 PM
Lol Webb. I have Oblivion GOTY and Oblivion on PC so I'm set. That horse armor is mighty tempting however.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 01:12 PM
Well i will get thisWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 01:15 PM
that is pretty sweet.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 01:24 PM
Brilliant. Love to see devs take the water like this ;DWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 01:27 PM
lolWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 01:32 PM
this is really weird 2 days ago i was saying how the deal of the week was crap giving out 2 year old DLC half price and that all DLC over a year old should decrease in cost and oblivion was the 1 game i singled out!!! still not getting the horse armour always was a piss take and always will be.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 01:33 PM
If you get the GOTY edition of Oblivion it's only like 20 bucks brand new and it contains Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles. The you can get the The Vile Lair half price. You've saved a ton of money that way. Of course this being aimed at people who are thinking about getting into Oblivion and such.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 01:45 PM
Well if you really want horse armour...Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 01:45 PM
I bought the GOTY Edition. Such a great idea but I would be rushing to my XBOX right now if i got the regular one and had never DLed any of this before.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 01:45 PM
I've got the GOTY edition so I might take them up on the Vile Lair DLC. I really need to get back into this game. Such a great game!Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 01:50 PM
lol i borrowed shivering isles of a mate ftwWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 01:49 PM
Not a fan of Oblivion but I do want to play Shivering Isles if only to get the 1250. I thought I was going to get this but I didn't realize that half off is still $15. It's a much better deal for me to trade in my old disk and get a GOTY edition. Pass.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 02:06 PM
lol, i thought they were joking when they announced it!! the joke is obviously that horse armour is double price, anyone gonna get it? ;) lolWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 02:21 PM
Finally we can all get the Horse armor at a just price!Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 02:22 PM
Thanks Bethesda, now I can finally afford that Horse armour!Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 02:30 PM
Thats nothing, someone Rick Rolled my entire school lmaoWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 02:30 PM
Or you could just buy the disc version, install it. Then trade it in.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 02:32 PM
Damn that Horse Armour. It's a worthless DLC anyway, so I guess double pricing it really makes no difference.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 02:32 PM
lmao. I cant complain about this at all. I got the DLC a long time ago so its not like I wouldve waited 2 years for this day. In that amount of time I got back the money I spent on the dlc hahaWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 02:37 PM
i dont get it?? why double priceWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 02:56 PM
#23, lolwut? Seriously, I think you're the only one here. The only thing I can think of is the FPS every now and then, other than that Oblivion is one of the best games I've ever played.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 02:53 PM
double price for a joke, duhWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 03:12 PM
hahahaha!! nice one bethesda :)Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 03:11 PM
Or, just get the GotY Edition that comes with The Shivering Isles for $25.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 03:20 PM
ALL the downloads.... asides the horse Armour are more than worth it at their standard price. The Horse Armour was one of the worst pieces of DLC (bar the new/recycled gears of war 2 crap) and I think Bethseda realize this so have made a good joke out of it. You wouldn't expect epic to have the same scene of humor...Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 03:27 PM
Horse Armor is double price... That's awesome, this really made me laugh.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 03:30 PM
Great when a developer can laugh at themself. As for Shivering Isles, I already have the disc but this is a great deal, get it!Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 03:30 PM
This is my favorite game ever, no joke. I encourage everyone to buy it and the DLC if you haven't. But not the horse armor pack, not that it is twice the price, just that it is pointless.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 03:51 PM
just get the Game of the year edition. 30 bucksWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 03:56 PM
God damn, I was just away to buy Horse Armour ;)Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 03:52 PM
Pretty funny. I bought Oblivion a month ago, beat it full achievements a week ago, and while I find this to be a good deal, I already got SI and KotN cheap with the GotY edition. Besides, if the bonus stuff is anything like the Mehrun's Razor DLC, I think I can safely say pass to the rest of the worthless DLC they're peddling. Great game, but only worth it for SI.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 03:58 PM
:| gr8 i thought why not i would get the dlc for oblivion seein as i already had 1250 and a day later its halfed in price ?? thats bulls**t =@Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 03:57 PM
@#51. Yea you can get the GOTY edition that has all this DLC for pretty cheap now. Oblivion was a must have, theres no way I would have been able to wait for it. Im hoping a Fallout 3 GOTY comes out.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 04:06 PM
This was just fantastic! Picked up the final content I was putting off. The Orrery, Vile Lair, and Fighters Stronghold.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 04:05 PM
Purchased, now lower fable 2 dlc price to 400 ms or lower.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 04:19 PM
Dont understand the double price :L, Ah well aint even got oblivionWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 04:52 PM
Strange... I bought the special edition of Oblivion with Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles in it, so I'm good with that, but horse armour just seems like a waste.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 04:47 PM
i never liked oblivion anyway...i bet other ppl here like the crappy game known as fallout 3Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 04:58 PM
Horse Armour double? I dont get it....might get KoTN thoughWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 05:09 PM
Damn some of you guys are dumb, the house armour is double the price cause it's April Fools Day, it's a joke, they realise horse armour is pointless crap so double the price while the rest went cheap. Get a sense of humour people.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 05:24 PM
Nice, got GOTY already but picked up all the other DLC (sans Horse Armour of course). This should tide me over waiting for Broken Steel.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 05:32 PM
Great stuff Dl Shiv Isles now, glad I came to Oblivion lateWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 05:36 PM
Why double priced?Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 05:27 PM
1200 MS points, equal 12 euro, still is way too much for a simple game addon that only brings some small 250 Achievement Points. I agree, the DLCs should have been in a deluxe edition or something alike. Since I've already played the complete game 3-4 times, I'm not buying it for the xbox yet. Waiting till SI drops to 800! BTW.: every of the not-SI addons are really not worth the buy!Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 05:58 PM
44 are you retarded? installing decreases load time, you still need the discWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 06:21 PM
This game is old. People still play it?Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 06:28 PM
This game has been around long enough that all of that stuff should have already been half price...for good.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 07:02 PM
Cool.Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 07:50 PM
shivering isles is beast its hella weird but awesomeWednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 07:31 PM
this is kismet!! have just purchased the GOTY edition and now i see this!!! have rinsed the lot for a PHAT saving!! thanks bethesda!!!Wednesday, April 01, 2009 @ 09:41 PM
I bought this stuff when it came out, and I got my money's worth then. So I guess it's good that people with less money to toss around now-a-days with our economy and other garbage can enjoy it all.Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 12:27 AM
it was 1200pts for The Shivering Isles for a limited period last year aswell, i think it was sometime after the summer as i remember buying it and spending an entire day rinsing it out.Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 01:17 AM
@23 what are you talking about?!?!?!? Oblivion is one of the early games that helped shape the 360, it was truly a great game... so don't bash itThursday, April 02, 2009 @ 01:44 AM
I wish they'd put out some sort of final patch for the game. Add in a toggle so that ANY item can be dropped, basically just give us the option to eliminate the "quest item" status completely, or even just temporarily to dump the stuck items in our inventory.Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 02:53 AM
not a fan at all of this game.. Found it really boring but hey.. what takes your fancy i guessThursday, April 02, 2009 @ 02:55 AM
Number 73 - he is not retarded, he is referring to the fact you can buy the Shivering Isles disc, install the data and then take the disc back. You do need teh original Oblivion disc but not the add on one. So think before you insult someone.Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 03:12 AM
just as i don't have any points for shivering isles :(Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 05:01 AM
how much will knights of the nine be now? does it have achievements?Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 05:44 AM
Awesome deal :D Just added Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine (400 points for #86 btw) to my download queue. Glad I didn't get these when I first bought Oblivion :)Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 07:50 AM
actually sounds like a good deal to me. Shame i dont have this game or the microsoft points. If anyone is willing to get this, make sure you get it now. What a deal!Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 08:41 AM
when will this halved price expire?Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 09:27 AM
Shivering Isles is a must have I've spent like 20hrs running around the Isles. It just adds so much. The Vile Lair lets you be a vampire who never needs a cure.Balls! It's all worth getting for a must own game.Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 09:57 AM
Or, solve the problem by having a good buddy who has the GOTY edition. Works pretty sweet. Props to Bethesda for making the biggest life-sucker of all time. 93 hours and still not done.Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 09:59 AM
#62- Seconded.Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 10:27 AM
I bought all the 150 MS point stuff for half price, and I still have 800 MS points left for anything that may crop up over Easter! Thanks Bethesda. Thesda.Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 10:33 AM
@23 - are you sure you werent playing two worlds :)Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 11:10 AM
All the people talking about the GOTY edition, I was under the impression that it came with only Knights of the Nine & The Shivering Isles. All this other DLC isn't on there right? If so, I'll definitely be picking up all this content (minus that crappy horse armor of course).Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 11:57 AM
this game blowwwsssssssssss utter failThursday, April 02, 2009 @ 12:37 PM
Damn, too bad I got this game for the PS3.Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 12:52 PM
@#96 Yes, you're right. It blows so much it won game of the year.Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 12:55 PM
yes this did blow lamest game ever and doubling the price of horse armour wtf's with tht:SThursday, April 02, 2009 @ 01:15 PM
Woot go 96 you commented on a game u don't care about! I'm totally picking up Horse Armor now.Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 02:12 PM
kudos for sense of humorThursday, April 02, 2009 @ 03:01 PM
I've had this game for over a year, still haven't done everything there is to do and now I'm thinking about the DLC for it. woot :DThursday, April 02, 2009 @ 04:07 PM
i knew it would go down and it did. im the one guy who waited and it payed off. hahhahahThursday, April 02, 2009 @ 04:08 PM
I just bought the Game of The Year Edition. Two bucks more than the regular price and it comes with the Knights of Nine and shivering isles.Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 05:03 PM
just watch, someone buys the horse armorThursday, April 02, 2009 @ 05:41 PM
Who actually would get horse armour? Get the good horse and it can't die.Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 09:28 PM
Wa?! How can they DOUBLE the price of DLC thats so dam old!Thursday, April 02, 2009 @ 10:20 PM
uhhhhh wtf with the horse armor. rotflmao. does anyone actually buy this stuff anymore? And does anyone use a horse in the game and if they did who would buy armor for the horse? this is so ridiculous it's funnyFriday, April 03, 2009 @ 03:00 AM
can't you buy the full game with expansion pack and extras for like 20bucks used now?Friday, April 03, 2009 @ 01:05 PM
I bought today some 2100 microsoft points just for these packs. I had none of them and now I have them all, except for Horse Armor ofcourse. Thanks Bethesda!!!Friday, April 03, 2009 @ 01:06 PM
BTW in my country, The Netherlands, Oblivion GOTY edition is 40 euro's so Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine were cheaper this way.Friday, April 03, 2009 @ 11:41 PM
Actually, many still buy these DLC packages. According to January or February Bethesda sales records, tens of thousands of purchases are still made on the individual DLC of Oblivion per day. That means that, for example, 30,000 people still buy the Wizard's Tower per day, along with the other DLC. As for me, I had Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine since 2007. This February I downloaded the rest of the content, including the horse armor (I had 4,000 points to burn). I wish that I had waited a few months, but Oblivion's aged so well that I think it's worth it, anyways.Friday, April 03, 2009 @ 11:53 PM
All the DLC is now appropriately priced, though. I'm glad that Shivering Isles is now only $15, instead of $30. It was never worth $30 to begin with. There's no "30 new hours of gameplay" unless you like exploring sparsely populated lands. There's only one city (granted there are about six little five-housed settlements), and the lands consists of very few actual non-player characters. All-in-all, it COULD be worth 30 hours of gameplay, but it's not going to be by the average gamer; only by the gamer who enjoys just observing artificial wildlife.Friday, April 03, 2009 @ 11:55 PM
Horse armor is a disappointment; it was an OK price at first. Not acceptable, but OK. However, even the Horse Armor is worth the download. It adds something to the aesthetic quality of Oblivion. Sure, you can get Shadowmere, who can't die, but the Horse Armor still just looks bad ass, especially when you have matching armor with your horse. Still, Horse Armor should be a free DLC now, and should have been from the beginning. Here's hoping they keep the price reductions, and make Horse Armor free.Tuesday, April 07, 2009 @ 03:06 PM
i havent got this offer email :(Sunday, September 26, 2010 @ 11:25 AM
It`s okay for me because I don`t really use the horses in Oblivion that much.Saturday, October 16, 2010 @ 03:04 PM
lol horse armor is probably the most useless DLC of this game to. its a little late, but i have it and there is some retarded armor that`s literally made of leaves or something, then theres the silver armor and i don`t know how to get silver armor for your character to match.
Wednesday, April 01, 2009
It's not very often you get an e-mail off Bethesda title "Oblivion sale excitement," but today was one of those days. Naturally, because it's April Fool's Day, you assume it's one of the many unfunny pranks, but after a little digging on the Marketplace, it is in fact genuine. The e-mail read:
"In celebration of the arrival of April, the wackiness of April Fool’s Day, and the upcoming 3rd anniversary of the release of Horse Armor (Friday, April 3), we are pleased to announce that for the next week all Oblivion DLC for Xbox 360 is half price, except for Horse Armor, which is twice as much as usual. So if you’ve been waiting for just the right moment to get The Vile Lair, or Knights of the Nine, or Shivering Isles, now is the time."
So if you've not picked up Shivering Isles yet which now costs only 1,200 points, now's your chance. Ha, and who said nothing good came from April 1st? Oh, that was me.
