With Red Dead Redemption 2's debut trailer dropping yesterday, giving us a tantalising hot minute of what we assume to be in-game footage, it got us thinking. What are the things we'd really like to see in the game when it drops next year? How could Rockstar improve upon what's gone before and bring its Wild West sandbox to startling life?
Red Dead Redemption was already an incredibly accomplished rendition of Wild West America, complete with sweeping plains, a lively ecosystem of animals, horses, trains, bandits, saloons, bar fights, poker, liquor and dustbowl frontier towns. To date it remains one of Rockstar's most rich and evocative open worlds.
But, there's always room for improvement! So we got our heads together and mulled over what additions could make Red Dead Redemption 2 the ultimate sequel. We already know it's going to look gorgeous and atmospheric. We know that Rockstar has some ambitious online plans up its sleeve, but beyond that, a lot of questions still hang in the air, unanswered.
Here, therefore, are seven things (seven cowboys, The Magnificent Seven etc.) that we want to see in Red Dead Redemption 2, or else we riot. Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in autumn 2017.
