Namco Bandai announced that it will be releasing a follow up to the 2005 RPG on the PS2 in Japan on August 6th with a wide release to EU and US regions later this year.

Featuring an all-new story and cast, Magna Carta 2 will utilize the Unreal 3 engine and Japanese manga artist Hyung-Tae Kim for an excellent blend of both worlds to create a beautiful game world. The game will feature a blend of real-time and turn-based action, using a party of three active players (six total playable in the game) that can be swapped during battle. With reportedly over 40 hours of gameplay and a multitude of sidequests, this latest offering from developer Softmax and publisher Namco Bandai looks amazing.

The first 20 seconds sounded REALLY gay, after that it looked pretty cool.

Its Namco Bandai, I'm highly in doubt it'll be released in the US and EU around the same time.
I'd like to hope, but how PAL regions have to wait for Tales of Vesperia still send shivers down my spine.

Did anyone actually play the first one???? It was TERRIBLE!!! I have very little faith that this one will be any better... Of course, that being said, the bar was set so low with the first that it is possible, I suppose.

sheesh, does the green power ranger REALLY have to provide the voice for EVERY male hero in EVERY anime and video game? is there really NO ONE else who can do it? (slight exaggeration, i know, but only slight.)

since there have been so many Final Fantasy instalments (all being widely successful) it's tricky for any new JRPG to not look like an FF wannabe.
some of the moments in the trailer looked really crisp, but others fell way short of fulfilling the standard of graphics we've come to expect from the 360. don't think i'll be picking this one up

@5

Completely agree, but man I'm still excited. I love the 360 getting different "PS2-y" games like this, it's MUCH needed.

Seems interesting, I'll wait for a review before I think about it though.

Here's to hoping we get another good JRPG on the 360...

@5 You are absolutely correct sir. The first one was truly awful. The voice acting was BY FAR the worst I've ever encountered, the story was non-existent, and the combat system was just abysmal.

I couldn't bring myself to suffer through more than 3 hours or so.

Will definitely NOT be picking this one up unless they completely overhaul, well, everything.

#21 I'm with you on that. Dubs suck.
This looks interesting, I'll have to keep my eye on it. Gonna wait and see if they pull the Square-Enix standard and force you to play through several times to do everything before I get too excited.

I think JYB does a great job with all his voice acting, it seems lately he has been in a lot of games, not that its a bad thing.

The voice acting was one of the biggest turnoffs from the first game for me too (along with a bad story and combat system of course), but as for it being the WORST voice acting ever, didn't you ever play the original Resident Evil? "What...IS it?" Hahaha, that one takes the cake!!
