The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited has received its first major DLC of 2017, with the free Homestead update now available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. As the update's name suggests, Homestead enables you to buy and own a home in Tamriel, from modest apartments, to grand houses and opulent manors. You can even own an island with enough Crowns.

Your first home is also free upon completing an initial Homestead tutorial quest. Then you're free to deck out your home with numerous decorating items, like furniture, books, barrels, various decors and loads more. In fact, there's more than 2000 items with which to make your accommodation feel like home using the Housing Editor. Homes are also styled after each of the game's ten races, with nearly 40 instanced homes to choose from.

Homes can the be shared across multiple characters, with decoration items available via the Crown Store, or craftable using your existing crafting skills. You can even place combat dummies, crafting tables and assistants in your Elder Scrolls Online home, if you like.

The Elder Scrolls Online Homestead update is available to download for free now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

  • 26GB!! people will need an external HDD for this game alone soon lol!
  • #1, I know! I used to play this on ps4, but it alone was taking up almost a quarter of my hdd space (and that was before the last several patches). I ended up trading it in and getting it for X1 cause I had an external HDD for it. Of course PS4 is adding support for external drives long after I traded it .
  • this why xbox one should have been released with a 5TB hard drive
  • @3 I grabbed an external 5tb a year after the system launched. I have 350+ games on it and I'm at 60% full. No internal can keep up with me.
  • @3 Same here. I also have a 2TB drive for my 360. It's only half full though. 1.6 TB left for the one. I'm probably good for another 3 or 4 years. However, there's the Scorpio on the horizon. Who knows how large those games will be.
  • Yeah my 5tb is almost full already!!! Good thing xbox one supports 2! Next up is a 8tb or maybe a 12tb if its at a reasonable price when scorpio comes out. @5 Imo I dont think there will be that big of a difference in space. A native 4k blu-ray movie is only a few GBs more then a native 1080p blu-ray disc.
