Sega has shown off the first official footage from Sonic Forces - the game which was previously simply referred to as Project Sonic 2017.
The footage gives us a look at a world in which Dr. Robotnik was actually successful for once, and as such there is chaos and havoc everywhere. The trailer is a teaser for the sort of gameplay we can expect. The game has been described by Sonic Team's Takashi Iizuka as an 'evolution of Sonic Colours and Sonic Generations' so that can give you some idea of what to expect from the game.
According to a Game Informer preview, legacy Sonic characters will appear in the game - the likes of Amy, Knuckles and others will appear in the title, but won't be playable.
Take a look at the new trailer below:
Sonic Forces is set to release worldwide in Q4 2017 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
