Maximum Games has announced Dead Alliance, a team-based first-person shooter in which you play as a military force taking on a legion zombies. In Psyop's game, zombies are not "just the enemy", they're also weapons that can apparently be used strategically to distract and dispense with human foes during combat.
In Dead Alliance, military bases are humanity's last city-states amid the game's post-apocalyptic wasteland, wherein teams of players compete for survival while tackling the plague of undead. The game promises single-player and 4v4 multiplayer modes, including Team Deathmatch, Free-for-All, King of the Hill, Capture the Hold and the MOBA-inspired Attrition mode and Solo Survival.
You'll also be able to customise and upgrade your loadout with a variety of military-grade weapons and "advanced zombie-controlling tech" known as zMods. These include the 'Enrager' that turns a single zombie into a super-strength soldier who'll fight at your side, and the 'PAM grenade' that makes four zombies of standard strength work for you. There'll be many more of these zMods in the game.
Dead Alliance will be heading to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on 29th August with pre-orders bagging the 'Rapid Dominance' Day One Edition of the game, containing three bonus loadouts, as pictured in the pre-order promo image below. The game is available to pre-order from retailers now, priced $39.99.
