Konami Announces Voice of Tobin Bell in SAW Video Game
Written By
Konami today announced that actor Tobin Bell will extend his role as the infamous Jigsaw by voicing the iconic character in the upcoming video game adaptation of the most successful horror franchise in history - SAW. The game will be released this fall timed to Lionsgate's October 23 theatrical release of SAW VI.
Garnering two MTV Movie Award nominations and three consecutive Spike TV Scream Awards nominations for "Best Villain," and winning the Fuse/Fangoria Chainsaw Award for "Best Butcher," Bell's Jigsaw is widely regarded as one of cinema's most terrifying villains. His chilling and immediately recognizable voice is essential to the terror, because he rarely confronts his victims in person, preferring to communicate via recordings, speaking through a puppet named Billy. Jigsaw traps his victims in brutal mechanical devices and forces them to acknowledge the mistakes in their life while testing their resolve to live, usually with gruesome and deadly consequences.
"SAW fans are very vocal, and the one thing they've been shouting since we announced the game is that Tobin Bell absolutely must be the voice of Jigsaw," said David Daniels, Director of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "It never occurred to us to even try and make a SAW game without Tobin. His voice is one of those intangible elements that make a SAW movie feel like a SAW movie; so having him voice the game was crucial."
"We are so proud to see the SAW franchise extended through Konami's game, which captures the ethos of Jigsaw and the terror of being caught in one of his games with complete authenticity," added the films' producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules of Twisted Pictures.
Aubrey McClure, Lionsgate's Senior Vice President of Promotions and Licensing, agrees: "This partnership has been about assembling the perfect team to further immerse fans in the SAW universe in a way that feels organic. Tobin Bell, Twisted Pictures, and Konami have all been essential parts of that team with us and we are thrilled at the end result of this collaboration."
And, added the master of terror himself Tobin Bell, "I am so proud to have voiced Jigsaw in this game. I've been very impressed with mechanics of the game. It's terrifyingly smart and intriguing to me! It is a fitting follow-up to the tantalizing games of SAW."
SAW will be released in North America this fall.

I kind of would love to play this with Project Natal. That or atleast on the wii. Maybe use your avatar in the game? That'd be hilariously awesome.

Damn, every time I refresh the front page there is a new article... Hopefully this is a good game, hard to say as I don't really like movie games besides Star Wars :P but most likely a rent.

Ehh weird. Feels like they are making a crappy game from a famous movie just to make money. But I will have to see some more of this before I say it sucks.

i really excited for this. as long as they have a good budget this could be very fun. if not, it could be the biggest bomb to date.

I gotta agree with #7 and #8 I'm sure this game will consist of crappy puzzles that will either be too simple to care about or to hard to really wrap your head around but then again who knows it could be another butcher bay and if so who can really complain? But the tagline should really be "I wanna play a game"

Jigsaw: "I want to play a game."

Me: "Yeah, but a Saw game? I think I'll pass."

guys this game could be good heres how i see the layout:
basicaly it is a puzzle game (uh isn't every saw movie a puzzle?) anyway you are stuck in a room with the famous head cutting machine he made in one of the first movies. He say he wants to play a game and explains why u r here and what u hav to do. Basically A,B,X, or Y does some certain thing, like the A button allows u to idk use a screwdriver into your eye so u can get the key like in the movie or u find another way to get it out. If you die then you restart in a differnt level as a differnt puzzle etc, but if u stay with one cahr and u don't die then u can probably escape or in the end like every Saw movie you are always pulled back in idk i think its going to be a great game as long as they make the puzzles challenging enough t
