I've come to the conclusion ... the whole sports personality on a cover making news is absolutely pointless and such a waste of time. I understand that it's ironic that I'm making this complaint seconds before I'm about to talk about the new NHL 2010 front man, but I have a valid reason ... there are new screens for the title, and for that reason alone, I'm posting this news.

EA today announced that Chicago Blackhawks' 20 year old scoring phenomenon, Patrick Kane, will appear on NHL 2010's cover in North America this September.
“It’s exciting to be on the cover of my favorite videogame after playing just my second year as a professional,” said Kane. “When you look back at some of the great players who have had this opportunity, it’s an honor to be a part of the EA SPORTS family and contribute to a game I’ve been playing for more than 10 years.”
Canadian junior hockey scoring sensation, John Tavares, will be assisting Kane in promoting the game, whilst Washington Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom was earlier named a cover athlete on NHL 10 packaging for Sweden with additional regional cover athletes for Finland, Denmark and Switzerland being named at a later date ... but unless there are a load of new screens, not here.
NHL 10 will be in retail stores across Europe on September 18.
