GamesCom 2009: Vote El Presidente or Else with this Tropico 3 Trailer
Written Thursday, August 20, 2009 By Jason Debelyak

I'm going to be completely honest, I had no idea what Tropico 3 was about, and after viewing the trailer, I was still clueless.  Well, for those of you that are in the dark like I was, apparently it's a "business simulation" game that has been a hit in the past on the PC.  So, um, yeah.. Well, I guess we'll see how the game will carry over to consoles, when it is expected to launch next month.  Anybody try any of the past games in the series?

Played the first one... like one of those simcity games, except you get to be Castro! XD Basically you try to keep the people happy or scared shitless, and have a good-sized, well-paid (or they'll kill you in your sleep) army to keep everyone in line.

Second one was Pirate's Cove: pretty much the same thing, just set back a few centuries. This looks like something for me to buy after a year or so, or at least a good rental. ;)

Hmm, interesting. SOUNDS like Sim City...but I've never heard of it either so we'll see. They should make a Sim City game of some sort for 360, I'd buy it!

Played one of these on the PC once before. But yeah, I'd play it, I like business simulation games, but I hope it's for PC only, cause those sort of games don't do well on the 360, like C&C or Halo Wars (even though I hadn't played the latter)

I love my 360 and I love strategy games, but the two just don't go well together. More likely than not, I'll be getting this on PC. I just hope the PC version has achievements like the 360 version.

looks interesting? i love sim city but this just looks bizarre. IF there is a pc version I'll probably end up buying that, or renting the 360 version.

I own Tropico 1: Mucho Macho Edition, and Tropico 2: Pirates Cove.

These games are AMAZING.
I can't wait for a #3!

Looks different. It makes a change from yet another first person shooter that seem to be the only games released nowadays
