SEGA to Release HD, 2D Sonic in 2010

For years, Sonic fans have been crying out for a return to 2D form for our little blue friend and it seems SEGA have always attempted to try and reinvent the franchise. It didn't work... fact.
In a response to fan feedback, SEGA confirmed to GameSpot that there will be a 2D, HD Sonic title in 2010; currently called Project Needlemouse (working title).
SEGA associate brand manager, Ken Balough, stated that the game's concept was a response to "old-school Sonic fans" who "have long asked to see Sonic return to a more 2D style of gameplay."
