DJ Hero
First DJ Hero DLC Pack Available Now
Written By
Well, one good thing is that Activision looks committed to supporting DJ Hero.  Just days after the game's release, the first track pack has been released as downloadable content on the Xbox Live Marketplace.  The track pack consists of two mixes and is available for 480 MSP.  The mixes that are included in the pack are:
  • 50 Cent Ft. Mary J. Blige - "All of Me" vs. Queen - "Radio Ga Ga"
  • Gorillaz - "DARE" vs. Public Enemy - "Can't Truss It"
To download the track pack, you can do so by clicking here.

Couldnt release it with the game, aye? Nah, why would they do that when they can squeeze a few more pennies out of consumers.

Also, i know technically its 4 songs, but really...2 songs for 480points?

Well at least Activision waited a couple of days, instead of having the DLC available the same day the game released. But this is ridiculous all of the DLC that is coming out lately.

I find it funny how people go "OMG DLC THE FIRST WEEK IT CAME OUT FAIL LOLOLOL!" and proceed to go gloat about Rock Band being perfect and not a cash cow. They seem to forget that when Rock Band 1 originally came out there were a good 6ish packs released on that day.

Son of Kyuss, Harmonix haven't released half a dozen music games this year like Activision has. Rock Band releases DLC weekly so you don't have to go dish out another $60 for a lame full retail game. There's a huge difference, I'm sorry if you are too hard-headed to see that.

And LOL @ #17.

Maybe also some of Method Man or Wu-Tang Clan. But I think they will stick to Scratch... :(

@19 a normal rock band pack with 3 songs costs 440 msp and a gh game has about 45 new songs on the disk for 40€..45 songs in rock band dlc would be about 6600 msp which is about 60€..who's the cashcow now?

@19 Here's something for you. Rock Band on iPhone, Rock Band on PSP, RB2, RB Beatles, Lego Rock Band, Not to mention Abbey Road dlc came out a week or so after RB Beatles and the game only had ~50 songs to begin with. This isn't including all the seperate disc track packs, now a The Who: Rock Band is rumored to be in production... At least DJ Hero is a new IP and a new idea that is IMO much cooler then the RB/GH idea. I don't like Activision but it isn't fair to blame it all on the Hero games. MW2 is the 6th CoD and it looks like a map pack and extra missions at best. And I back up #21... you're getting ripped without even knowing it, $5 at a time.

I don't have the game yet, but I wouldn't mind DJ Hero DLC...just not for 480 points. After all, a Rock Band 3-pack is 440 (I understand it costs more considering they're actually 4 songs, but that doesn't mean I want to pay for it any more)

@24 I know damn well when I buy a song/track pack its my choice to pay 2$ per song. Rock band says "here is one disk with some awesome songs, buy the extra ones you want" Guitar hero says " Its that time of the week, here is a new disk, I really hope you like all the songs but you probably won't"

Also @24 1: Who gives a crap about 2 dollar apps on an Iphone? Sorry but I don't think that counts towards a game. Also, RB: TB cam out 09/09/09. Abbey Road came out like a week ago. That's not a week later. And for Rock Band:The Who, they didn't really announce it but still, if it comes out, it will be a long time. Activision would probably set that as their January game. GH: The Who! January 10th... Whats for February? GH: 14?

you fail to realize the convenience of RB is priceless.... i dont want those shitty songs from bands i hate, so, using RB DLC, i can pick and choose my genre/band/song individually, unlike GH, which whores itself out with 45 songs, 35 of which i dont want

basically, youre assuming that RB owners will buy EVERY single song that comes out, which is nowhere near true

These are the 2 pre order bonus tracks. so thats why its separate! if you pre order you get with the game if not then tough luck, your lucky they are available considering a lot of pre order bonuses are exclusive to pre orders. Lots of companies do it so get off Activision's back and be greatful they gave you the OPTION (thats right, you dont HAVE to buy it, its a CHOICE. amazing really!) to have the tracks at all!!

you guys make me laugh, its kind of obvious. to MAKE MORE MONEY, that's all the GH series is now (yes, including DJ hero). 2 is already scheduled for a 2010 release, so Activision needs to let these game series die already, its getting out of hand. One day we'll look back and laugh at how much money we wasted on the same crappy game over and over when we could of actually been learning to play the real thing, Quite sad really.

Well...yes...I know they want to make money. That was kinda my point of them trying to rip MORE money from us. But yes, you're 100% correct. All in one year from Activision: GH: Metallica, GH: Smash Hits, GH5, DJ Hero, Band Hero, and GH: Van Halen. That's milking a franchise TO DEATH.

It wasn't originally an Activision title until they merged with Vivendi Games last year. They just added it to their music game release fest lol. Just an interesting point that they couldn't even be imaginative so far as to do something a little different with the genre they're milking, they had to take a half made game from someone else.

480 points for two "songs" (not that I would call 50 cent a song or music by any imagination).
Also I saw someone playing this at Best Buy yesterday....
If you bought this retarded ass game I have a bridge to sell you in San Fran... Really cheap too....

What is next Activision?
Radio DJ? Pong Reloaded?
A new version of Pong with colored balls! But it only comes with one paddle you have to purchase the other one for 480 MS points....

You all are fucking ridiculous and really show no signs whatsoever of knowing how business is run. The DLC is out because they promised two free downloads to those people who pre-ordered. It's not that fucking hard to see. Also all the "include it with the game" shit, what do you think they do when they finish a game? Stand around with their thumbs up their asses? Frankly the efficiency Activision has with music games is commendable. Harmonix just isn't big enough to be able to pump out games as the giant that Activision is can. Now I'm not a fanboy of Activision, but I have business sense. Also I own and play the shit out of my Rockband games. Essentially the squabble between the companies is fucking retarded and you guys are just common enough to follow suit. Truly disappointing how the

Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic.

Not DJ Hero, Activision whoever. No... All the people moaning about GH and not Rock Band. They're a guilty as each other and here's a really novel idea - if you don't like the look of something, don't fucking buy it.

For example, I dislike Metallica, so I've not bought the GH:M. The track list of RB2 didn't appeal, so I didn't buy that either. I liked the look of GH5, so I bought it. I can't be bothered with 90% of the DLC on either games, so I use my points elsewhere. It's a really simple premise, I'm surprised it hasn't been embraced. It'll do your blood pressure the world of good, y'know.

No one is forcing you to part with your cash for these things. If Activision and EA want to release 100 different iterations of the same game, let 'em. I

I agree, there is a lot of bitching in this thread. Activision is offering a great deal of variety. Between all the GH games, DJ Hero, and Band Hero there's something for everyone! Not just variety in genres of music, but variety of instruments(guitar+bass, drums, mic, and now turntable) With the addition of DLC you get tailor the game to your liking! I don't think Activision intended for the average customer to buy EVERY game or EVERY song/track pack they put out! Unluckily for me I like mostly everything they put out so I'll always be broke.

For anyone thinking about buying DJ Hero, I highly recommend it! I know $119 is alot to fork up for most people but I think you'll be pleased especially if you're a fan of different types of MUSIC! DJ Hero offers a new instrument to play/master,

If you have enough money I'd suggest getting the $200 Renegade Edition. If you don't already know it comes with 2cds(one Eminem, one Jay-Z),12 tracks on both, and the hardshell turntable carry case that converts to a stand. Also the finish is a shiny piano black like the PS3 with gold trim! The crossfader slider and effects dial are gold as well! The turntable is wireless, I'm not sure if the standard edition is.

#63, yes the normal one is wireless as well. I agree with #58 too. Nobody is holding a gun to your head telling you to buy extra songs. And I also agree that they are overpriced for the consumer if they want to compared to most Rock Band songs which are 80 MSP. YOU are the consumer, YOU decide what YOU want. End of story.
