Just when you thought Splinter Cell: Conviction was within touching distance, Ubisoft's upcoming console exclusive suffers another setback and slips from February to April.
In today's financial update on its third quarter fiscal performance, the French publisher stated, "Splinter Cell Conviction is now expected to hit the stores in April 2010."
No reason is cited for the delay, whether it's the strong competition in terms of other titles or that the game needs more polish; that currently remains unclear. Either way, it's a huge blow for fans of the series.
Amongst other delays, Ubisoft also announced that its deception based RTS, RUSE, will also slip further back into 2010. Unlike Splinter Cell: Conviction, there is no estimated release date for RUSE other than "2010-2011."
Looks like February became a hell of a lot clearer. You can still look forward to Bioshock 2, Aliens vs. Predator, Dante's Inferno and if you own a PS3, Heavy Rain.
