Today's finale finishes the two-piece interview off in style as we focus on some design choices in Mass Effect 2 before touching upon Mass Effect 2's post-launch support, Mass Effect 3 (and beyond) and also where BioWare stood on the whole multiplayer front with the Mass Effect franchise.

interesting that he said they plan on doing more with the franchise after ME3. Maybe something along the lines of being able to play during the Proeathen times? There could be limitless possibilities.

Indeed . . . My only concern of the Mass Effect franchise is it ending. . . DLC, novels, games, the whole nine yards. I'll support them they know what the fans want.

I also liked how you guys handled the interveiw, its nice to see that this site isn't run by a bunch of coporate execs who think only about the money, you guys hit him with all the right questions and I gotta give you my highest amount of gratitude.

All and all Mass Effect should be allowed to burn brightlly, with games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age I seriouslly reconsider my standing on other genres (mainly JRPG'S) the franchises bring a certain sense of emotion to the table. Not everyone is getting out alive. . . not everyone will be happy. . . thats some of the core things you can expect in a Bioware game, that. .

(post got cut off)

. . and the cast of Dragon Age Origins (check the Migrant Fleet you'll know what I mean)

To end this note the Mass Effect universe has done something to me that NO OTHER game has done to date. Draw me into its universe. I feel like Commander Shepard and I find myself second guessing myself all the time. Bioware has done that and done it right time and time again. Like I said. . . I'll support them with whatever they throw at us. . . no matter how big the cost

Bioware ftw.

If I had felt like typing something long, #6 & #7 would have been what I'd have typed.

Agree all the way with every bit of it. Also, glad someone else reads Bioware's novels!

Totally agree with all of you guys. Bioware has made a game that I actually wished I could be in and actually felt attached to the NPCs and cared about their well-being (even Subject Zero after I found out about her story). I felt as if they were real people and so I did everything possible in my first play through to make sure they all had the best chance of surviving. Mass Effect 2 is the best game I ever played.

@Darth: Are you kidding me? The 3rd one is coming out soon and I'm like "Gotta get my fix of Effect!" At first I didnt like Acension but it eventually grew on me, I like how they threw in some things in ME2 that tie into Acension like obviouslly the Illusive Man, the Migrant Fleet and even Red Sand.

They did things differentlly with their novels and acually tied them into the game unlike Halo and Gears of War you have the essential characters but they aren't included in the games themselves Drew is an extremelly fluent author that had me reading the novels as much as I'd be playing the games lol.

Now all I gotta do is make Jack loyal to me. . . . *sigh*

Mass Effect 2 has more emotional depth than anything I've ever seen. In the end I found myself loving and caring for every character (especially Tali, I love that quarian) the wait for ME 3 is going to be agonizing though...

Moar! Can't get enough of this game. Really is epic and very funny. That was my favorite part. Everywhere you go something so stupid or funny happens which makes you laugh out loud. That is the very definition of fun. Bring on DLC and Bioware's future games, you just know they will be great.

Devil Sora, I agree completely. The thought of an amazing series like Mass Effect ending absolutely sucks.

But at least Ray said that it isn't going to end anytime soon, even after the trilogy. That's something positive.

Kudos to X360A + Bioware.

To me Bioware are the number 1 RPG developer, they know what the fans want and create rich and deep emotional storylines which makes you want to play the game more and more.

I'm very glad they are gonna keep the world alive after ME3 and would absolutely love it if they made it after the ME series so your decisions affected games which weren't even out yet!

I hope they keep a steady stream of DLC and it keeps the game going, the DLC should be proper stories with hard ethical and moral decisions and a good length. Also i'd like a level cap raise to 40 over time.

I'm glad they stuck to their guns and didn't cave like Ubisoft when it came to multiplayer, with Dr. Ray saying in so many words that the Mass Effect series is meant to be single-player only. I don't know why so many developers feel like it's so necessary to tack on some half-baked competitive multiplayer mode to a game that was already great as a single-player game. *coughBioshockcough* That being said though, it would be kinda nice if there was co-op in the Mass Effect games so your buddies could join your squad and go questing with you ala Borderlands.

There are loads of possibilities for more stories.
Could be set in the Rachni Wars/Krogan Rebellions, an RTS could work for that.
A Game based around the Salarian STG, slightly stealthy.
I would like to suggest a Quarian based game but playing a game full of people with no faces wouldn't be too great.
Maybe a FPS playing as alliance in first contact, Gunning down the Turians.
Maybe another trilogy set 500 years in the future. Krogan could have repopulated and be a treat, Liara would be Maiden, nearly a Matriarch and might have gone bad.
Maybe a more lonely game about Gillian from the 2nd book being grown up and being a kind of rogue biotic out for revenge on her 'Father' and Cerberus. another Bad-Ass Biotic. kinda like a more likeable Jack.

seriously you could make another

Ran out of space :/

you could make another 30 years worth of games with the amount of world info the game gives. and i for one would buy every single one of them.
Bioware FTW =]

#27 I was thinking possiblly you could do something with Garrus' squad on Omega. . . . he said he pretty much rallied people just like you did in the first one

I also agree tying something into Acension and even Revealation. I was almost sad not to see Kahlee or Hendel(?) in ME2 . . . .also theres Miranda and Jacob's meeting, hell he even admitted that there was something going on between them all and all you can have so much stuff going on that its impossible NOT to take a step back and look at the big picture. Mass Effect isn't simply a world, its a universe.

I'm surprised that there isn't already a Mass Effect MMO in the works. A whole galaxy and so many diverse races...
