Assassin's Creed 2 To Get Secret Templar Locations Tomorrow As Well

Dan Webb
As well as Bonfire of the Vanities touching down tomorrow, Ubi just tweeted that you'll also be able to get your hands on "3 Templar Secret Locations."

The three locations coming tomorrow are: Pallazo Medici, Santa Maria del Frari and Arsenal Shipyard.

Whilst Bonfire of Vanities can be purchased alone for 320 Microsoft points, these three locations can be added to the package for an extra 240 points.

No word on what they are or whether you can buy them separately, just know there's more DLC coming tomorrow.

  • Wish i kept this game now
  • well. lets hope for some achievements. at least one would be nice.
  • Not achievements, not Buy
  • its funny how many people will prolly not buy this just because achievments... what does that say about gaming now and 5 years ago X_X What would xbox be like without ahievments? I might pick this up if i land the job interview soon :P
  • Got the points ready and waiting :)
  • Looks nice, I feel sorry for the people who shelled out loads for the White and Black versions of the game. The release of the Templar locations erodes somewhat into their exclusivity. Has to be expected though.
  • Ummm i already have Pallazo Medici and the others i remember coming with the black edition(that might have changed) but i definitely have Pallazo Medici. This is news that they are coming to download but how come you said No word on what they are when we already new what they were before the game got released, eb games had descriptions of each on site.
  • Off topic is me or has the news section on the front page just got bigger. Fair play xboxa love your news posts. Keep it up
  • I don't remember ever going to the arsenal shipyard so that one will be new for me as for the other two i've already done those simple they were
  • I think #3 means no cheevos no monies ;-)
  • any news on the achievement front would be nice ubi, cuz Im gettin both at the same time
  • Greatly disappointed by the lack of 'exclusivity' of the collectors edition content. It'd be different if day-one/preorder purchasers got the content free, now a few months down the track it comes out for a nominal fee...
  • What do the Secret Templar Locations do then ? Are they just new areas to explore ?
  • Achievements don't really matter to me. As long as the content is good and worthwhile, I'll buy it.
  • @#$ it's even more funny to see how they sell you a retail game in pieces, what does that say in 5 years? pay 60 bucks a game and in the end it's a 100 all together, screw that imo.
  • @#4 ofcourse ;)
  • Im a bit disapointed that these are coming out now too as i got the black eddition. But i do have the figger sat on my desk at work :P But i am looking forward to finaly finishing the dna bar
  • wait people commplain when dlc has no achievements but then they complain again when there is there is just no pleasing people
  • @ 4 Most people are boycotting this because Ubi said they deliberatly toke it out, so would you pay extra for stuff which should be in the game?
  • You guys sicken me. What ever happened 2 playing games 4 fun?
  • I was able to buy Arsenal Shipyard as a bonus download in the UK, and it wasn't worth it. I thought that it would beef up the story, or that you'll get a neat piece of armor...neither. Just a sack of useless florins and overhearing Ubisoft laugh all the way to the bank.
  • These Templar locations were in Collectors Editions, good they are avaliable through marketplace, I have only normal version of the game.
  • Anyone who comes to a site called xbox360ACHIEVEMENTS.com and moans at people who are disappointed at the lack of achievements are fucking idiots.
  • @6 I got the White version for the figure and just 'cause I like collectors edition games. In all honesty I forgot about the Templar Lair till a couple weeks after I'd finished my girlfriend's brother said "what was that code we got meant to unlock" :p
  • achievements really add a lot of a game especially DLC, it's nice to have a reward and something to show for what you've done.. beating DLC that has no achievements and then looking back a little time down the road it's like it never happened.
  • well i hope these are available as individual download...ive got the 2 that came with master assassins edition. i dont want to have to shell out for all three when all i need is shipyard arsenal.
  • #23 and everyone else bitching about not having Achievements. YES it IS an achievement site, so it would make sense for people to moan when there aren't any achievements for a certain games DLC. BUT if you look at the news for DLC coming out WITH achievements people STILL moan and bitch that there are achievements and that it ruins there completion. So really wheres the happy medium? On a side note i'm with #13, WTF do the templar locations do, or are they they extra places to explore?
  • @3 Work on your grammar first before you post. OT: I thought that this DLC would cost 400 MSP INCLUDING the 3 Templar Locations? Now they want to charge extra for them? That's BS!
  • Mr Cuddly Aardvark, I believe the Templar locations are just places to explore and basically get more gold from/loot that's it really. Although it does offer a I guess you could call it a puzzle, not that hard I might say just some jumping and running.
  • needs to be better than the first DLC or have achievements or I am not wasting anymore money on this game.
  • no chieves, no buy. honestly i know something is wrong with me, i did enjoy the game, but i have no reason to replay killing the same guys over and over again w/o there being any chieves to make it worth my while.
  • I have not uaed my codes yet so I'll probably download them from the marketplace and then try and sell the code on ebay. Since there are a bunch of suckers on there buying codes up at ridiculous prices I might be able to get a pretty penny.
  • Not to interested in the Templar Locations, I'll probably try to add the points for this when I get the points for the Resi5 DLC to.
  • @#23- THANK YOU! I'm definitely picking up Bonfire of the Vanities, but I don't know if paying for the tombs is worth it...hmm.
  • You people have no life how you are only going to buy it for achievements. Buy it because this game kicks ass.
  • I wont get it cause it dosent have achievements. Im not gonna pay for something that is an hour long.
  • People saying they wont buy DLC because there are no achievements is stupid, but to each their own I guess. I'm personally waiting until tomorrow to buy all 3 packs and then play through them and enjoy finishing the game as I enjoyed the game originally. DLC is a nice addition, but achievements aren't the end of the world
  • why do you all fucking bum of gamerscore arggghhh
  • I still dont see the problem in wanting achievement score from DLC. If it is so insignificant, why not just add it to all DLC? At the end of the day, this site is visited by a large number of people in order to find out about achievements and how to get them. I think you should be a bit more aware of that and respectful to people who are - understandably - concerned as to whether or not the DLC has achievement points. A third of visitors to X360a, roughly, who did the poll on the main site would buy DLC if they really did like the game, but most would like some achievements, at varying levels of necessity.
  • Man that stuff should be included or atleast some achievements. making us pay for stuff that should've been in the game. C'mon son!
  • deadly news.. AC3 is my fav game of last year.. have everything done.. cant wait to pick up the DLC's tomorrow and add another couple of hours too it..
  • Wish there were some achievements but for this price (and such a great game) it's a bargain as it is^^ So getting both of em tomorrow!!
  • No achievements? No problem. Can't wait! To those wondering about the bonus Templar locations, not worth it. They don't add to the story and only give you Florins. No weapons or dialogue. The platforming is pretty kick ass though. Up to you, but if you already have one or two from a preorder or collector's edition I wouldn't bother. I'm missing Arsenal Shipyard and have no desire to play it anymore.
  • I wouldn't care about the lack of achievements in these packs if Ubisoft had actually given us something new, or expanded on the game. We all knew that those "corrupted" memory segments were going to be DLC the day we got to them in our initial play through. Frankly, I was excited by the idea of more Assassin's Creed 2. However, considering we are just revisiting the same areas and characters again, achievements would have been a nice balance and incentive to actually pay the points for it. I'm sorry, but without the achievements, I'm just left with content that should have been included on the retail disc. DLC doesn't always need achievements, but if you aren't going to bring anything truly new to the table, why should I be bother to accept it? But then again, at the end of the day

I'm sorry, but without the achievements, I'm just left with content that should have been included on the retail disc. it's my decision not to buy the DLC, just as it is someone else's to buy it. And it is a shame, too, cause I really like Assassin's Creed 2. And as far as the Templar locations
  • are concerned, if they were available only in the Collector's Edition of the game, it really should have stayed that way. I only bought the standard edition, so I don't have them. However, that is the point of a collector's edition. You buy them to have access to content others can't have. To offer them otherwise just make that less special and less valuable to the over all package. What's next? Are they going to offer the figure too? Hmmm...on second though, that might not be a bad idea. I could actually use that. Anyways, sorry for the ranting. I'll get off my soapbox now. Happy gaming, everone!
  • Sorry about that! Didn't know there was a character limit to the posts. Comments #44-46 make more sense when read together.
  • @23 Anyone who comes to this website that doesnt moan about no achievemnts also complain about them having achievements because it ruins their completionist score. Some people just wont play games for fun anymore. Anyone who refuses to buy it because of lack of achievements may as well just quit playing games cause it shouldnt be the reason you spend money/time.
  • @ #4 I wont buy it without achievements for this reason: This content was obviously held back from the retail release and should have been in the retail. Ubi is trying to charge us extra money for content we already paid for when we bought the retail. If they want extra money, they've gotta give us something extra, ie achievements. I'm personally sick of companies holding back content from the retail release then releasing it as DLC. Just be men and be honest about it. Release it all in the retail and charge more for the retail. That's what they really want to do, but are hiding behind "DLC". Ubi and EA can eat my ass.
  • No achievements = No sale. It's such a great game.Too bad they disrespect gamers by not adding achievements. It's the least they can do for asking us to pay for short DLC.
  • i agree with no achieves no sale but i still bought the 1st DLC and i was dissapointed it only lasted me 15 mins it was too easy and not enough to do hopefully the new 1 has sum cheeves and is way longer
  • I know it sounds like im some sort of gamerscore whore type thing. But the dlc that first came was awful, and if you've just spent your ms points on awful dlc that didn't even give you a chance to boost up your gamerscore for the game its awful. So same for me, if there are no acheivements im not getting it because of how poor the first set of dlc was for the game
  • 15 minutes? Wow, now I'm even more happy I didn't buy it. Now I can the first one (DLC) was a waste of money and have some backing.
  • The main gripe from my point of view is all the "dlc" that is really just shit they did during the initial development cycle and are trying to charge extra for it
  • @#36 HaHa are you serious? You won't pay for dlc that is an hour long unless it has achievements? But you will pay for extra numbers next to your GT... @#25 "beating DLC that has no achievements and then looking back a little time down the road it's like it never happened." Because you have a horrible memory? Do you also need an achievement in life to remember where you parked your car? Without that achievement you might end up thinking you walked instead of drove. Microsoft can make so much money off of you all, sell you 200 gamer score for the dashboard at $10 each. Sell 200gs/$10 monthly. No content, just gamerscore for $$ and you all would eat it up.
  • Wow how messed up is this now you have to buy 3 templar locations. They really screwed this up. But thats my opinion.
  • I already had the arsenal's shipyard which game free with my game, but forgot to use it, so I may as well shell out on the 200 points, for all 3 still, even with a spare code
  • 15 mins? What are you smoking, the first DLC was NOT 15 mins long. It took me an hour to run through it, going at a reasonable pace. I've heard times from 45 mins to 60 mins, but 15 mins is way over exaggerating. Little dissapointed that the templar lairs are sold seperately, but at least they reduced the price of Bonfire to 320 like the first DLC. I have 370 points on my account and I REALLY didn't want to have to buy more just to get the extra 30.
  • Agree with #54. Great marketing tactic by ubisoft to charge extra for content that was developed a while ago, but....I AIN'T BUYIN IT!
  • @55 you kinda got a point, but then again 25's got a point too. We're talking years here, so it might just happen you play AC3 and look at the achievos from the 2nd one and go like: "Oh yeah, they had dlc for that but how many were there and what was it about."
  • im a gamerscore ho,to a point,i love playing games but achievments are a big part of it for sure, they give a game much more replayability,i remember playing ps2 games and beating them in 5 hours and being kinda bummed cause it was short or watever, also even if someone does play strictly for achievments, like people who play childrens games for instance just 2 get a quick 1000,so what, dont affect me,game away, enjoy!!!
  • @49 I'm sure you have no idea why it was left out. Did you work on this game? No. So you can't say "They're doing this for money" when you do not work there or even know the facts.
  • I'd love for there to be more achievements for this game, but if there aren't, I'll buy it anyways. What did you achievement whores do when amazing games came out on the PS2? You didn't have achievements then, and I'm sure you were completely satisfied.
  • I'm disappointed for no achievements, being the whore that I am but for the pricing, you can't complain. It's not the greatest DLC but this was a game that I was more interested in the story.
  • You know guys I completely disagree with those of you who keep saying that Ubisoft screwed everyone by leaving out the two memory sequences. The retail game is a complete game. The gaps in the story were not essential to the MAIN story. You still get 20+ hours of content in a GREAT game for $60. That's a great deal. How anyone can play through ACII and then complain just because Ubisoft offers a little more content (for a lot better price then most DLC) is beyond me.
  • People that complain about paying more are almost as stupid as those that complain about achievement hunters. They seem to forget that Microsoft, not Ubisoft, is in charge of the pricing. If Microsoft wants to up the price, either it happens or the DLC is not released. To people complaining about achievement hunters, I will quote #23 in saying you are "fucking idiots". OT - I can't wait for this release, I'll take any chance I get to pop in the AC2 disc again.
  • @23 - it's actually Xbox360achievements.ORG, not .com. Sorry just had to point that out. OT: I am sick of this crap that games went up to $60 for this generation of system but yet game developers give us 90% of the game and then say oh if you want the rest you have to pay another $10. I think that if they are going to give us 90% of the game then they should either include the DLC for free with new games or sell the game for $50. What are they going to do next, just give us the map and then make us buy each mission? I swear if Ubisoft does the same thing to Splinter Cell, I will NEVER buy another Ubisoft game new again (I will buy future Assassin's Creed games used so Ubisoft doesn't get a dime of my money off of it).
  • And also if Ubisoft is doing this because they aren't making any money off some of there games, here is an idea: QUIT MAKING ALL THESE STUPID WII AND DS GAMES. Gamers don't want 5 Petz or jewelery designer games a year. Stick to the games that put you out there (Tom Clancy games, PoP).
  • is the first dlc any good ?
  • @23 this site has actually gradually moved from solely an achievements site to a general xbox 360 news site so w/e. If people want to express their feelings on things they should feel free to do so.
  • Arsenal Shipyard was the Best Buy pre-order incentive that I missed and hopefully can purchase this item individually. I love the story of this game!
  • I don't care, I find this game very entertaining and will get the DLC. Except maybe for the Templar Locations, I got them in the Black Edition, which was worth it to get the Templar Locations early. I think I only got 2 of them, though...oh well...
  • Ok, just read everyone's comments and felt i need to put my ten-cents in... Does anyone actually remember playing games for fun and entertainment and something to do on a rainy day? I do! Achievements should be there to enhance a game, but not be the only reason to buy it. I whore with the best of them but can honestly say every game i've played on my profile i've enjoyed (even the guilty plesures). Dissappointed at Ubi for charging for something you should have got when you payed full whack for one of their game but at least they admitted to it, how many games companies out there do then honestly? How much dlc is left out of a game to make some quick easy cash off people later... especially the big release titles. Everyone's entitled to their opinion on here, but please people GROW UP and
  • remember the original reason we played games all those years ago as children... FUN!!! I agree with both sides of the arguement but aren't dumb enuff to think we're not gettin screwed over occassionally by Microsoft for more money, biggest company in the world aren't they? =oP *Sorry had to spread my comment over two pieces... didn't realise there was a limit for my rant lol*
  • If there are no Achievements with this DLC I am really gonna be upset! I kept this game especially so I could download the DLC and get more Achievements from it. I could have sold this game a month ago when it was going for over $40 on ebay, now its going fr $25!
  • Yeah as much as i love my cheevy's, it wouldn't stop me from actually purchasing a game/DLC. Acheivments or not, i'll definatley be getting this. What has me pissed off, is the fact that i already have these god dam templar locations, they were the bonus for the Black and White editions. So I'm basically having to pay for them again, even though i've already completed them.
  • Lame, no cheevies and the Templar locations i already have because it came as free DLC with my black edition
  • Sucks ass, I need Arsenal Shipyard only... why do I need to get all if I got 2/3 already...!?
  • I will get the DLC with or without achievements.
  • Will be waiting to download the new sequence in 7 hours :), don't care about achievements, as long as I get me some Assassin's Creed!
  • If someone wants cheevs and refuses to buy a piece of DLC why does that bother some of you so much?? Are you part of the DEV team? Why take it sooo personal? Chillax all... And personally I am not going to buy it without cheevs. BUT... this is not because I am a gs whore, it is because while the game was good, it is over. The DLC doesn't allow me to get anything new. It doesn't fill in any major plot gaps. It doesn't further the story. I would have paid for Fallout 3 DLC without cheevs because the game rocked, and it GAVE ME SOMETHING NEW! As well as furthering the story, (in some of them). MW2, I would buy DLC because new maps or Spec Ops scenarios would be something new. This is just the same old same old repackaged and recharged. Also, I have plenty of other AWESOME games that are givi
  • Also, I have plenty of other AWESOME games that are giving me GS and so why not play them?? I am late on the Borderlands bus, ME2 still needs some lovin, and I am waiting to get Dante's Inferno. Not to mention that the greatest game of all time is coming out in less than a month! Final Fantasy XIII. So... that's why, if there are other games that do give me something, then forget a no cheev DLC... it's usually not worth it. Little heads up would be nice about the cut off guys... ;)
  • 200 points for 3 damn locations? wow.....just wow.
  • Wow extra locations sweetness! I didn't have the dough at the time to buy anything other then the normal version. Wish they sold them individual though, I already have one of the three, got it with the pre-order from Gamestop.
  • I have fun getting gamer score.
  • I, for one enjoy the new stuff to do. I have nothing left to do. All feathers, all treasures (even the mountains), all missions, DNA sequence completed. I tend to think this is UBi's was of keeping people interested before release of AC3. The one bad thing is their marketing for it. I finally found the code in my box yesterday when packing it up and getting ready to give it to my bro-in-law. Almost lost content... BTW, even NES games were like $30-$50 back in the day so stop complaining.
  • awesome
  • i buy all ubisoft games used. i will never pay them a penny if i can avoid it. DLCs? if there's no reason to i won't buy them. if they give me extra story AND some interesting weapons or equipment then i'll buy. sod the cheevos. more equipment/weapons, make story bigger, begrudgingly i'll pay MS pts. otherwise? ubisoft? piss off
