Ubisoft: "There Will Be a Splinter Cell Conviction Demo"

Dan Webb

In what will be the first of a proverbial fuck-ton of Splinter Cell: Conviction coverage today, the first bit of news ironically doesn't come from our hands-on time with the game or the team (we didn't go hands-on with the development team by the way!) but from a Conviction Q&A over on YouTube.

In response to whether there will be a demo for Conviction, Creative Director, Maxime Beland, simply stated, "Yes, there will be one. I can't tell you what map or when it's going to be released yet, my lips are sealed."

Let's hope it's pre-release for those of you who are unsure as to whether you'll pick it up yet.

Stick around this evening as we're publishing our Splinter Cell: Conviction latest hands-on, an interview with Beland and maybe even a little news about why we won't be seeing Spies vs. Mercs in the latest Splinter Cell sequel.

  • ajskfjklvzklxcjv I'm already hyped up enough for the game. I NEED this demo now.
  • Glad there's a demo coming out. It'll be good to get my hands on this game! Better be pre-release!
  • looking forward 2 try this.
  • This needs to come sooner, I'm getting way too anxious for this game.
  • Hopefully its good >.>
  • Cool, demos are always good news.
  • A demo is always nice :)
  • Sweet can't wait for this game and a demo is great news!
  • wish all games came out with a demo. Make a fun demo showing us whats in store for us if we buy it and make the sale! :D
  • Didn't expect to see the F-bomb in a news article. Thought you guys had a rule on that kind of stuff.
  • @#11 - It's not the first time I've used that turn of phrase =P
  • @2 - I am the same way!! I really want to play this game!!! Can't Wait.
  • yay demo, i'm not 100% sure about this game yet, hopefuly the demo can make me buy the game
  • I prefer the term "metric fuck-ton".
  • @#11 and #12 After being in a pre-match lobby on modern warfare 2, 'fuck' is a tame word straight out of primary school :P
  • In other news, there should be some discussion about splinter cell, besides the F-bomb =] Looking forward to this one boys! Anyone else crack the code of conviction? ;)
  • I just love the term Fuck-ton to be honest, sounds funny as hell in my head :) And good to see I get to test this before I consider buying it, I liked the demo for DA but I never got the real game, never been into the Splinter Cell games to be honest but this could change my mind.
  • Fuck is a pretty tame word. Play X-Box Live for 3 hours.. you'll hear far worse. Fuck is the word you can take home to mom compared to most the terms I hear throughout the course of my gaming night.
  • If its as hilarious as the double agent demo was then great :).
  • If the demo is pre-release or not, I'm gonna buy this game. This is one of those games that doesn't need a demo imo, it is going to rock anyway.
  • your right on that Music, i cant wait either!!
  • sweet
  • I just jizzed in my pants. Sucks too, I just took a shower. Damn you, Splinter Cell.
  • Demo or not, I already per-ordered it!
  • Waiting for this game sucks!!! Give it to us already!!!
  • Hope it's a single player lvl and just some crappy online multiplayer map like the AvP demo!! I want to see how the game world looks and plays =)
  • Can't wait for the game and can't wait for the demo!
  • * sorry that should read "and not some crappy online multiplayer map...."
  • Nice a demo! I will be picking this game up regardless. I'm a huge Splinter Cell Fan
  • Splinter Cells have all been the same (shit) since 2001, what's going to make this one any different, or better? Sweet fuck all. ALL Tom Clancy games are dick.
  • I better not have to preoder the damn game to get this demo because that is stupid! The whole point of a demo is to TRY the game to see if you want to buy it! If I have to preoder the damn game to get the demo then that just goes against the idea of a demo. Stupid ass gaming community does things all wrong it seems!!
  • I've already had hands-on with the game. I don't need a demo to know this is worth every cent of my preorder. But I'll still grab the demo as soon as it hits the marketplace.
  • I still want to try it out before I feel like spending money on it. It LOOKS good and all that, but I've been deceived before by neat-looking features and broken promises. xD
  • Is this finally coming out? NOW MORE FUCKING DELAYS
  • Maturity reaches a whole new high when you laugh at the creative directors name, maxime beland...
  • yes bring it out NOW.........
  • this demo better come out soon. They already delayed me from getting the game when it was set on a date to release. now it got pushed back. give me my splinter cell fix sooner than later. thats all i ask as a gamer.
  • YES!
  • $100000 says its the mansion infiltration level. Webb, if u were at e3, youd agree.. haha
  • dont need a demo personally, pre-ordered it years ago. still good they are releasing one, tempt a few undecided minds.
  • @#32 if you have nothing good to say. Don't say anything at all. Besides that this game looks amazing :) I'va played every splinter cell except the PSP version.
  • demo is always a good start. saves wasting money on a crap game
