Splinter Cell: Conviction UK Launch Trailer Is Pure Badass

Ubisoft has sent us the Splinter Cell: Conviction launch trailer a wee bit early, and we can say without a doubt it's one of the slickest videos we've seen in a long time.

Opening with the gravelly tones of the one and only voice of Sam Fisher, Michael Ironside, the vid shows Sam getting brutal in his single-minded mission to avenge his family.

"They say when plotting your revenge, you should dig two graves - one for your enemy and one for yourself," he growls. "I can tell you right now, two just ain't gonna be enough!"

Yeah! Go Fisher! Go!

Then Johnny Cash's "God's Gonna Cut You Down" kicks in and the awesome begins to flow thick and fast.

Splinter Cell: Conviction is out on April 16th in the UK and Europe, April 13th in North America.

  • Love this game, although it probably won't move the amount of units it deserves. Too many MW2 fanboys that'll be humping their new map pack.
  • badass
  • Expect some "deleted" chapters DLC from Ubisoft, EA's style.
  • @ramarcos Yeah, we knew that. It er, says it in the article. That and, well it's Cash, you should know anyway ;)
  • Pure awesome, one of the best trailers ive seen in a long time. Cannot wait for this game!

  • I may have just jizzed my pants.
  • Think I might miss it, gone off Splinter Cell since Chaos Theory back in the day...
  • LOVED the choice of music for this, Johnny Cash FTW!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this game, please don't let us down Ubi Montreal!
  • loved that johnny cash music. johnny could sing some dark stuff. as for the game..i may have to get this one. i love how sam fisher is involved in a personal story regaurding his family. havent played a splinter cell game since i was able to get the original on my ps2. could this song and some of what sam said be a hint that this will be the death of sam fisher? well sam fisher could kick jason bourne's ass anyday. stupid bourne movies.
  • @16, really? MW2 chatter on a Splinter Cell post?..what the... On Topic: YES. I loved the demo, been going over it a few times. Cannot wait to get the full game, it's gonna kick ass.
  • Hmm.. That quote at the beginning.. the White House on fire... makes me think of Modern Warfare 2 all over again. XD
  • Preordering right now!
  • I've been on the fence about this for awhile, but I think I might just have to go for this one.
  • Silly not to buy it, really.
  • I've been looking forward to this for a loooooong time. I don't think it will disappoint.
  • Looks so badass!!! and the song went great with the video
  • Will be getting this pre-owned as my stance on the SvM issue. Saying that the demo was kind of lame but I am a splinter cell fan, so I will be late to the party.
  • Why oh why everywhere you go on the net you have to see something about such n such a game, you kind of get sick of it & irritated after so much. And there's only one reason people start hating that game, too many "kids" ruin it. Those same kids cannot shut up about it, they go on & on, all they know & talk about is that one game. As a result you get idiotic gibberish like comment #30 How do you kill CoD kids is the same as asking how do you kill that which has no life?
  • Day one for me. I love the Splinter Cell Saga. I have all the games in my little collection and I still play them.
  • @37 Very cynical, and speaking the truth. You sir are a legend.
  • great video and great song. never heard it before, instant classic
  • That was sweet!!!!
  • That trailer was awesome !!! I think that trailer has really sold it for me now !!
  • I think I just came
  • Great trailer, still just a rent though :)
  • Damn it... Why must I be capped. So far the most epic launch trailer I've seen is the Mass Effect 2 one, let's see if Splinter Cell can beat it, that is tomorrow when I've gotten my speed back. I've played every Splinter Cell so far and when I played the demo it was somewhat disappoint. I loved how in the others you were able to sneak through a whole level without being seen, now you HAVE to shoot everyone you see, hopefully, that was just for the demo level.
  • Nice trailer, the anticipation is building more and i cant wait for April 16th Slightly off topic, does anyone else think of his character in Total Recall, Richter, when hearing Ironside's voice? - Great movie
  • That is badass. Sam Fisher + Johnny Cash = WIN
  • Never played the past Splinter Cell games, but after downloading the demo for this, I really want this game..
  • nice song. getting tired of the same shitty songs for action entertainment. it fit really well
  • @#46 "See you at the party Richter!", haha hell yeah I do bro! I also think of him in Top Gun as Jester, and in Starship Troopers as Rasczak. One of my favorite character actors. I'm glad that he has stuck around for every Splinter Cell as Sam Fishers voice, he fits it perfectly. @#45 I'm excited to see a change in a video game franchise format. I've been a fan of Splinter Cell since the original and the stealth aspect of all of them is unmatched and awesome. Sometimes I think it's needed to change things up to keep a series fresh. Besides the beginning of the demo, I think it's Agent Williams, he is warning people about Sam's tactics of stealth and they show you all the new ways to confuse, attack, and kill without being seen. So it hasn't changed completely. When a game is the exact s
  • Got cut off: When a game is the exact same thing over and over, to me it gets boring and repetitive. Haha kinda like the Halo franchise. Not a fanboy of any games, because I've been playing games for a long time, just being honest. Anyway the trailer blew me away and just made me want to play this game even more! Not fair that it's still 2 weeks away! Think I'll play some Double Agent to pass the time!
  • this game be way more better if it was on the ps3 !!!
  • Ive said it before Ill say it again, Can not wait til I get to smash enemys heads through sinks and doors, love it!
