Brainchild of Mr. Fable Man, Peter Molyneux, Syndicate is a 17-year old isometric-view tactical shooter that could be enjoying a possible rebirth courtesy of EA and Chronicles of Riddick developer Starbreeze as hinted by United States Copyright Office filings.
The filed copyright for Syndicate was spotted by investigative site Superannuation. The documents date back to June and July 2009, suggesting that the game is most likely deep into development, igniting speculation that the touted reboot of 1993's Syndicate could well be EA and Starbreeze's collaborative 'Project RedLime'.
This is the second reboot of a retro franchise making news this week, with 2K's XCOM reimagining announced on Wednesday. Could Syndicate follow suit and be rebooted as an FPS? Only time will tell.
