Are you a luddite? Did you miss out on reams of free content in Assassin's Creed II without even realising it? Well then, chances are the same thing is happening in Splinter Cell: Conviction, meaning that you're potentially ignoring a raft of unlockable modes, skins and weapons.

Complete certain achievements and you'll earn points to spend in Ubisoft's in-game Uplay store. Conviction has a multiplayer Infiltration mode, SCAR-H submachine gun assault rifle and unique skin waiting to be unlocked in exchange for Uplay points.

Confused? Ubisoft has helpfully put together a video to take you by the hand and walk you through the process. A bounty of treats for Ubi games await!

  • I feel bad for anyone who couldn't figure this out on their own...
  • I unlocked all the stuff in Assassin's Creed that I could. Actually, I'm not even sure if it let me! I know I looked, though.
  • lol I would have done this with assassins creed II but im not gettin splinter cell co cba X lol
  • I thought the COMDEV thing at the start said Ubisoft Comedy. I remember before this Uplay thing on most of Ubi's games if you signed into an Ubisoft account you'd get something for free depending on the game you were playing.
  • blah this thing was common sense and albeit, while nifty, there is only 4-5 things you do to win points, then only 4 or so rewards. It's really silly because it takes no effort either to get anything. I finished the campaign yesterday after starting the game late monday. So, yeah, its terribly short. Now while I still have the online left to do, I am not an huge multiplayer person, but here shortly I will get through it, then the challenges and once completed there be little purpose to keep it any longer. Its a rent/ buy-and-trade-in game. Fun while it lasts, but it doesn't last very long. Realistic difficulty, isn't hard....
  • They should add more content to unlock for SCC via Uplay.
  • The SCAR-H (Mk 17 Mod 0) isn't a submachine gun. It's a battle rifle. It fires 7.62 NATO, not pistol bullets.
  • If half the menu is closed in Uplay, they are obviouslsy adding more shit. Common sense buddy.
  • @#8 I'm talking about in game rewards like the SCAR-H, the skin, etc...
  • Pretty unique way to build customer loyalty I guess, but like #1 said, it's pretty much out there to figure out for yourself. Don't know how you can miss it.
  • @7 Just what I wanted to say :P But you mean, it doesn't fire a pistol cartridge. But true, a submachine gun, peh.
  • This game is awesome #5 the co op is extremely fun prob better then the SP campaign
  • I've had a bunch of issues with uplay. First it started me out with a -100 balance, then when I try to submit a support request it just keeps on asking me to log on every time I try and submit something so it never goes through
  • That Uplay thing is actually quite, effectively giving dlc away for free if you can earn the achievements. Annoying that it is just Ubisoft games though.
  • @ #8. . LOLOL. You talk about common sense? Maybe if YOU had some common sense, You would realize that of those menus that do nothing, they do nothing because its STILL in BETA by the way, one is "help", another is "share". Obviously help and share wont add new content to the game, so why dont you take your idiot, pretenstious asshole and go sit in a corner.
  • Cause I did not play assassins creed 2 online I can't use the uplay points from it even thought I 1000d it!!!! Spunk monkeys!!!!
  • 15 You're an idiot. Play nice.
  • @15, your retarded One of the closed things is SHOP, so why do you assume that there wont be new stuff? Go look at the menus for more than 30 secs idiot Also, with share, you will probably be able to do something with it. Glad your IQ is negative
  • this game is epic i finished this in 7 hours on realism mode probably cos i played SC: Double agent like 5 times over and the enemies can be quite retarded and the story could be longer with more stealth action because you have to replay annoying parts over and over again if you make one mistake you are done for . I think the UPLAY feature is a good addition but i dont see the point in infiltration its nearly the same as both multiplayer features but then the game also adds good replay value taking different paths and sides as you go along and a tip for the tom reed achievements when the achievement unlocks during the cinematic puickly press start and restart from the check point so you can also get the good or bad action achevement. :)
  • @15 also if you havent heard ubisoft are putting new DLC up EVERY week so there is still more to this game.
  • @15 Flex that internet muscle....
  • DONT BUY THE THEME its not premium and its not good! a lame low res picture which isn't even worth the use.
  • It's 100 uplay points to buy everything but the 4 achievements give you a hundred points plus I got 10 extra points just for playing the game. The same with assassin's creed 2.
  • Seriously, who doesn't know this? So easy to get this stuff too.
  • @1-This
  • I figured this out, all on my own, back with AC2. And I would be shocked if anyone actually had trouble with it.
  • I like the idea as long as it doesn't become the next marketplace
  • People seriously didn't know how to do this? Maybe in future ubi can put the information in the manua... oh wait... I like the idea of using achievements to unlock content and whilst I really do like the choice of what to unlock, it'd be better to have that ingame rather than with an external and extremely slow loading app I have to say I was rather disappointed by infiltration mode, not that its bad or anything but it was absolutely identical to how I was playing Hunter. Any time I set off an alarm I'd swear vehemently and go back to the lobby...
  • Yeah this game is awesome, story, and coop is just sick. i agree with # 1, I feel bad for people who didnt know about this, because i found out on my own by looking through the rewards zone, and pressed left d-pad by accident and i found another page with 2 other games on it. Pretty cool
  • LOL Richard you make it sounds like there is heaps of stuff, its like 4-5 things. One mode (avaialbe with the pre-order deal), 2 guns, a skin, and a crappy theme. I did get the guns and skin though, both very cool :) had some points left over from AC2 so was able to get the stuff pretty much straight up
  • #27 said everything I was going to say. The AC2 stuff was pretty decent, and it sounds like the stuff for this game is good too.
  • @22 The theme for AC II was also weak and sub-premium...which is ridiculous. This is what some of my friends thought achievements were supposed to do when the 360 came out...they were dissapointed, to say the least.
  • @15 - well done, you get the 'douche of the day' award.
  • They need add a log off feature because it automatically signs me into someone else account that happens to use my gamertag as their uplay account name.
  • Good Game
  • This game is so Great
  • I got the scar-h how do I use it?
  • isnt there meant to be free dlc today?
  • I lol'd.
  • @ 15 Lol i love internet white knights
  • Ubisoft made a curious decision going this way to unlock free content. I still can't decide if I like it or not....
  • Geez, they must think out attention span is really short - why'd they have to speed up that guy's audio track so much? It's like he had a pot of coffee beforehand...
  • I like the feature it builds customer loyalty and pushes their brand amongst gamers. Sure it took them 4yrs to produce 4hrs of gameplay but thats not what the video is about it's for all the tard children out there who don't even look at the main menu before furiously tapping the start button.
