I rarely enjoy soap operas, but the fuss and whirlwind that the Infinity Ward, Activision and Respawn Entertainment love triangle has thrown up has been an interesting state of affairs to say the least.
After a number of key Infinity Ward staffers left recently, many of us assumed it wouldn't be too long before they joined up with former Infinity Ward front men, Jason West and Vince Zampella, at their new studio, Respawn Entertainment.
Recent updates on Facebook and business networking site, LinkedIn, have revealed that not too long is now, as many of them are snapped up by the newly formed studio.
Former Infinity Ward Lead Designer, Mackey McCandlish, and Software Engineer, Rayme C. Vinson, both announced they were joining Respawn over Facebook.
Over on LinkedIn.com, former Infinity Ward Lead Animator, Mark Grisby; Lead Environmental Artist, Chris Cherubini; Lead Animator, John Paul Messerly; Lead Software Engineer, Francesco Gigliotti; and Lead Designer, Todd Alderman have all changed their current employer to Respawn.
Last, but not least, taking the tally at eight - a tally we fully expect to rise in the coming weeks - Programmer Jon Shiring has confirmed over Twitter that he too will be joining the rest of the former Infinity Ward crew over at Respawn.
So that's eight of Infinity Ward's core development team now back with West and Zampella, but at their new Respawn home. Activision Community Manager and former OXM editor, Dan Amrich, believes that more could leave.
This isn't over... by a long shot.
