The Halo: Reach multiplayer beta is set to touchdown later on Xbox Live today for those who went out last September and bought a copy of Halo 3: ODST.
With news coming out of Microsoft and Bungie last night that the beta won’t be live till much later in the day GMT, we thought we’d bring you over 45 minutes of high definition beta gameplay to pass the time. Plus, if everyone scampers for the download at exactly the same time, it could take quite a while to download all 1.25GBs of the beta, so what better than to get in a Halo: Reach mood with some high quality gameplay capture. That’s the film quality I’m talking about by the way, not my less than l33t skills – that’s how you Halo players say it, right?
Below are 7 HD videos showing off both maps (with most of them taking place on the Powerhouse level because that’s the way the people voted pre-match) and most of the different game modes – both team based and FFA – that you’ll find in the beta to begin with.
I tried to capture a good subsection of the special abilities and use a wide range of weapons as well to give you a good indication of what to expect.
Before I let you get on, the Headhunter video is a great indication of how that game mode can change dramatically with the drop of a coin, so check that out.
