13th century Holy Grail adventure yarn, The First Templar has been announced today by Kalypso Media, offering up a 2-player co-op action romp set amid a conspiracy that unites a French Templar and a noble lady - who has been declared a heretic - as unlikely allies.
On a quest to uncover the mysteries of the Templar Order and the secrets behind the Holy Grail, Templar man and noble lady, who remain nameless for the time being, must deal with fallen knights and a corrupt Church along the way.
The First Templar will also support single player with AI taking care of your partner, although a second player can drop in and out of the action at any time. There's also RPG character growth and a historically accurate 13th century setting to trawl your way through, switching between character roles as you go.
The First Templar is slated for a Q1 2011 release. Check out the announcement screens in the gallery.
