Ahead of the upcoming trade show, E3, THQ recently announced Red Faction: Armageddon for a March 2011 release.
Set decades after the events in Red Faction: Guerrilla, you take control of Alec Mason's grandson, Darius Mason, who after an apocalyptic series of events is forced underground with the rest of the planet to start again in an underground network of caves.
Mason - who is an entrepreneur of sorts in the new underground civilization and profits off of mining, scavenging, etc - is paid to mine in the wrong place at the wrong time, disturbing something dark and something very evil.
The official site also teases an improved Nano Forge - said to give the user super-hero abilities - and a repair ability that allows Mason to resurrect once damaged objects by firing a swarm of nanites at decimated man-made structures to repair them.
Expect more details and screens early next week when the weekend passes, but in the meantime, here's the official first look trailer which debuted on GameTrailers a few days back.
We'll be checking it out whilst we're in LA for E3, so keep close by and we'll bring you our first impressions.
