Won't be buying any more ME2 DLC till Liara and the Shadow Broker. Really looking forward to that.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 07:19 AM
Some guns for 160 points? Sold! I had 160 points burning a hole in my pocket! Although I was crossing my fingers for more armour modules. Still, waiting for the Shadow Broker DLC now!Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 07:19 AM
NEED POINTS!!!Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 07:20 AM
160 points? Might just give it a goTuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 07:21 AM
aww, i sent this to tips and didnt get credit :(Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 07:29 AM
again some pointless challenge modes and i thought they will bring story continuation single player dlc for Bioshock 2. Never liked those challenge modes in games.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 07:31 AM
@#7 - Shit! That's my bad. I got distracted when I had to add the new achievements =P Fixed!Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 07:33 AM
What about the odd 1240 in metro today lol.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 07:38 AM
Gave up on maxing Bioshock 2 after the crappy multiplayer and the fiasco over the DLC already being on the disc, so i'll skip this.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 07:39 AM
hmm, I didn't like Bioshock 2 really, 1st is alot better, never really liked challenge game modes either. So this is a pass for me.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 07:42 AM
@webb its all good, thaught it was another one of them "mircrosoft beat ya to it" ones :PTuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 07:46 AM
What was the point of the Cerberus Network ?, we got 3 things from it on launch and then Firewalker, and nothing else, it seems to me that Weapon packs and the Alt. Appearance packs really should have been part of the Cerberus Network, as they are not worth paying any amount of points for.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 07:47 AM
@14 it was there way to try make money on the pre-owned game. see it like this. ME2 launch £40 + free cerberus ME2 now £20 + £8 for cerberus. you get the same content as someone who brought it for £40, but cheaper :)Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 07:48 AM
I don't like the look of those achievements tbh, looks like it'll be the sort of thing that would get properly on your nerves after a while. Plus is it not SP DLC? Man, the thing that would have benefitted from MP and they don't do it. As for the weapon packs, yeah, I would like to get them and 160 points isn't much, but there's quite a few of them now so I would rather get a bundle of them if they ever do that because several 160 points does add up tbh when it's just weapons. Maybe stuff like that should have been considered for the Cerebus Network tbh. Yeah, I appreciate what we have so far from that, blah, blah, blah. Metro 2033 DLC today aswell :DTuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 07:51 AM
ME2: finished the game, why on earth would i like to have new weapons? They should have included the guns in the game or via the cerberus network for free. DLC should be NEW content not extra.... imo: a miss Bioshock 2: stop it with the multiplayer stuff, the game IS single player. Give us a new ministory or something....please?Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 07:55 AM
@17 totally agree with you about Bioshock. I missed the game when it came out and currntly playing the story. Not really interested in multiplayer stuff so due to the game is pretty cool would love to see some expansion to single player.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 08:05 AM
Bioshock 2 DLC has been shocking. Not gonna bother with this one I dont think, even though it now means Bioshock 2 isnt 100% completeTuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 08:16 AM
1240G on Metro 2033 now... Are the game creators retarded ? I mean OK they can write some code, but doing a simple addition is terribly hard for them apparently...Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 08:16 AM
ME2 is so amazing im currently on my 4th playtrough but im waiting till Liara DLC :DTuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 08:28 AM
I think I need to change my shorts...Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 08:39 AM
@17...this is Single Player ONLY DLC, not multiplayer. While I agree it is not the best, it is 400 points and I liked defending the Sister in the game. It also unlocks new cutscenes, concept art, and new weapons for the next single player expansion as you complete the levels. I'll be picking it up later when I get home.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 08:44 AM
I'll wait 'til the Liara DLC is out, don't wanna buy the weapons pack and then find out I can't purchase the next one because I wasted some MSP on a weapons pack. -_-Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 08:48 AM
The new weapons are amazing, the shotgun can destroy shields from across the room. Assault rifle is pretty great as well, the single shot means it never misses too. The hand cannon is a bit meh but worth the money.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 08:58 AM
Just about to start my Insanity run through on ME2, so if I can get new weapons that tip the odds slightly more in my favour, sign me up.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 09:31 AM
I tried to like Mass Effect 2 but it was just decent compared to the first one, haven't even beat it yet! All this DLC for it sounds fun though, maybe I'll finish it up today...Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 09:45 AM
@23 .... ok ok what i ment to say was single player story dlc, and not what this seems to be an arena type dlc. like borderlands did with general knoxxx that was great, certainly for the price at the time :) even more so for the deal of the week last week :DTuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 09:46 AM
More weapon DLCs? Aren't these exactly the kinds of DLCs that should be available for free on the Cerberus Network?Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 09:56 AM
mass effect... yes bioshock 2... people still play that crap?Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 10:01 AM
Cerberus Network would be perfect for a simple pack of only three guns.. or at least have it 80points. Either way I cant wait for the Liara DLC next! Not planning on spending points on weapons/armor, mostly care about missions and more Gs!Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 10:49 AM
2K already confirmed the NEXT DLC would be story-related. This one will unlock a plasmid if you complete it, which you can use. Also it has art or something that will give a sneak peek at it.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 10:52 AM
i remember the times when weapons and maps were free.. heck, sometimes even "addons". ea really does milk biowares franchises :(Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 10:53 AM
Oh, and apparently they fixed the Rebirth problem with multiplayer, which deleted all your ADAM and messed up your leaderboards.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 10:55 AM
All the DLC that isnt continuing the story should have been included in Cerberus. Just another example of how all company's care about is your money. 3 gun packs, and armour upgrade packs are a waste of money and should be given for free especially when they were taken out of the game in the first place. Shame on Bioware for such crummy DLC and then overpricing it on top of that.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 11:01 AM
@3 lol wrong article mate this is about bioshock 2 not mass effect 2 lolTuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 11:02 AM
@30 Yes. And most people who play it don't consider it crap. You didn't even reach level 30 yet, and here you are complaining. You didn't get the achievements for the last DLC, which means you either didn't strive for, or didn't buy it. If Bioshock 2 is such a crap game, in your opinion; what necessity do you believe posting in a Bioshock 2 discussion accomplishes?Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 11:12 AM
@#36 Um, did you miss the part at the very start of this article talking about the new Mass Effect 2 weapon pack DLC?Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 11:17 AM
Wow this completely took a dump on my checklist, it's just checking off random achievements for some reason. Did this happen to anyone else?Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 11:30 AM
@39: Delete the checklist for the suspect game entirely and enable it again. That should fix the problem.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 11:35 AM
@20 WRONG ARTICLE. @36 You fail big time.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 11:58 AM
Yes, gotta get the ME 2 weapons to finish my Insanity playthrough!Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 12:23 PM
The secret achievement is to complete all the bonus trials, really easy when you get the ability to summon eleanor :PTuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 01:28 PM
Definitely getting the bioshock dlc, I love that gameTuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 01:29 PM
@17 Well put, having multiplayer in a single player game ruins it, it just makes the single player story shorter, which is why I have my doubts about Assassins Creed Brotherhood's online.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 01:52 PM
@41 i didnt see that bit at the top im half asleep lol btw u failTuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 04:29 PM
I don't understand why they're sitting on their hands when it comes to pump out DLC. Bioware is doing a good job putting out new stuff on a near-monthly basis, while others are waiting way past the games prime when people already parted ways with it like in Bioshock 2's or Metro's caseTuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 04:53 PM
I was gonna download the BioShock 2 DLC, but then I saw that it was a whole GB of space lol my hard drive only has like 2 GB left.Tuesday, August 03, 2010 @ 04:53 PM
Those weapons sound pretty cool, I don't feel like getting any points now but I'll pick them up when the Shadow Broker DLC comes out.Wednesday, August 04, 2010 @ 11:21 AM
I do wish that they would release some decent DLC for bioshock, its been dissapointment after dissapointment so farWednesday, August 04, 2010 @ 03:34 PM
To bad I sold Bioshock 2 as soon as I rebirthed :(

If you woke up this morning thinking that you didn't have enough Mass Effect 2 weapons in your in-game locker, BioWare pounced this morning with the release of their previously-unannounced-but hinted-at weapon DLC.
The Firepower Pack - available now for a measly 160 Microsoft Points - will give Commander Shepard and his band of merry space aliens 3 new weapons; the Phalanx, like a hand cannon but with an "integral laser sight for a whole new aiming experience;" The Mattlock heavy rifle, described as a hybrid of a sniper rifle without a scope and a assault rifle without the recoil; and finally, the Geth Plasma Shotgun, which is a three-barreled shotty that you can charge up for greater damage, or blast away rapid-fire for longer range encounters.
Today also sees the release of BioShock 2's "Protector Trials" for 400 Microsoft Points, which are described as "frantic combat challenges designed to push your mastery of weapons and Plasmids to the limit." In BioShock's take on the popular horde mode, the Protector Trials have you protecting a Little Sister while she gathers ADAM. Each Trial is said to have three unique weapon and Plasmid loadouts, with a fourth unlocking when you've completed all previous other ones. Head here to queue it up now.
Oh, yeah... there's achievements as well... we nearly forgot. Ha! As if! Anyway, there are 7 worth 100 points for your troubles.
