Capcom has released details of two more fighters for Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, in what might be the most agonising drip-feed we've ever experienced. Still, if it keeps us guessing and salivating for the game, then it's all good. Kind of.
One of the new characters you'll already know from the blatant bulbous-headed silhouettes seen plastered all over the MvC3 promotional material and artwork, while the other will either leave you confused or very excited.
Viewtiful Joe joins the roster as expected, bringing his big head and high-kicking antics into the Marvel vs Capcom universe, while the second character is one of Marvel's slightly more obscure characters. It's Dormammu, a villain from the Ghost Rider school of flaming skull-heads, who has been an enemy of Doctor Strange and The Defenders for many years in Marvel Comics history.
While the addition of Dormammu might seem like an odd choice given the depth and wealth of Marvel characters to choose from, bear in mind that his inclusion might signify that The Defenders could be coming too. We already have Hulk, so will we also see the Sliver Surfer, Namor aka the Submariner and Doctor Strange added to the list of pugilists? It's possible.
Check out the 29 new screens Capcom has released from Gamescom today, showing Joe and Dormammu in action. The game is out in spring 2011. Also, make sure you watch our super-powered interview with Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Producer, Ryota Niitsuma.
