"It's no easy task," says the commentary in this tutorial video for FIFA 11's new 'Be A Goalkeeper' Mode. That much is clear from the amount of visual assists that can be toggled on and off in the mode, from a circle that shows you the optimum position to stand, a white line showing the ball's trajectory and a red line indicating the ball's intended path.
You can then move with the left stick and dive in any direction with the right. As a goalie, you can also dive at player's feet with X and punch the ball away with Y. Timing is key though, so you'll look like a proper plum if you get it wrong.
Saving and keeping a clean sheet won't be your only concern though, as you'll also be able to zoom into the outfield and bark orders at the rest of the team. Pressing A calls for the players to pass, Y to punt a through ball, X to cross and B to shoot. But they won't always listen to you, the overpaid gits.
Check out the video and prepare to guard your onion bag when FIFA 11 releases on October 1st, 2010 in Europe, September 28th, 2010 in the US.
