Square Enix said that this would never make it to the Xbox 360 in Japan, with trailers for the game stating that it was "For PlayStation 3 Only" despite being released in every other territory worldwide, but now Final Fantasy XIII is finally coming to Microsoft's console in its native region.
This comes a big surprise after so many different voices all confirming that the game would never be released for the 360 in Japan, with Producer Yoshinori Kitase stating that Square Enix would not release an Xbox 360 version of the game in Japan, back in 2008.
Final Fantasy XIII Director, Motomu Toriyama echoed these sentiments when asked about the game coming to Xbox 360 by Dengeki PlayStation, stating that, "we definitely will not release it (in Japan)."
Now a recent issue of Dengeki magazine reveals that Final Fantasy XIII is finally coming to Japan for the Xbox 360, at a budget price later this year. Releasing a year after its PlayStation 3 counterpart, 'Final Fantasy Ultimate Hits International' is priced at ¥4,980 (US$59), which is half the price of the PS3 version.
Final Fantasy Ultimate Hits International will also have an exclusive 'Easy Mode' and an English voice option, and is set to release in Japan on December 16th, 2010.
