Supreme Commander 'Infinite War Battle Pack' DLC Out Today

Sometimes the arrival of new downloadable content is accompanied by a trailer, maybe a few screens and some details. Not for Supreme Commander 2 though, which has heralded the coming of its DLC with no less than three trailers and ten new screenshots. That, my friends is called 'overkill'.

Gas Powered Games' sci-fi strategy title released in March, features huge mechs, spider robots and other mechanised units and is getting a big boost with the 'Infinite War Battle Pack', due to stomp onto the Xbox Live Marketplace later today.

Introducing new a bunch of new multiplayer and skirmish maps, the Infinite War Battle Pack should encourage you to rediscover the RTS all over again, if you're willing to fork out 800 Microsoft Points for the DLC. Perhaps the videos and 10 screenshots in the gallery will help you make your decision. No word on achievements yet though.

[Update]

The DLC doesn't actually include the tech tree upgrades, units, experimentals and boosts for Xbox 360, as previously mentioned. These features are PC only sadly. [Thanks to SatansBunny99 for the heads up]

  • These sort of games should stay on pc
  • My God,I wasn't even aware there was a Supereme Commander 2 out yet, Screens look good though.
  • was this game any good ?
  • @1 maybe but this actually is better than the first with controller. So honestly if you don't like it fine, but rts are on the consoles lol
  • @4 If it has better controlls than the first i'm up for giving it a shot.
  • i saw the reviews for this game, they were terrible!
  • Even though it was an improvement over the first, it still just felt like they developed this for the PC and then mapped some buttons on the 360 controller. Halo Wars has rather effectively shown that if you want to develop an RTS for a console, all you have to do is remove any semblance of strategy.
  • @3 it's great on PC. I wouldn't play any strat games on console though.
  • So the Monkeylord makes a return and the UEF now have a ship with 3 of those cannons from the 'King Kriptor'? (some awesomely silly names haha) I can't spare the points right now but i will get it when i can -- Actually i just had a thought, will this dlc include all the free title updates that were in the PC version?
  • pleassssssssssse have achievements too
  • RTS on console. Nuff said^^ I only got through Halo Wars and onnly because there was no PC version. Shame!
  • If there is achievements I will get this for sure, I was very suprised by how much I liked this game.
  • Supreme Commander 2 is a disgrace to the genre. Fuck you Chris Taylor.
  • can anybody explain to me why they cannot just make it so you can use a usb mouse on rts games on the 360? then there would be no problem mapping controls to a controller.
  • This game is "nice" for an console rts. But NOWHERE NEAR better than the first. The only things it has going good for it is this: Prettier graphics and the battles are sped up. Sped up= it's easier/faster to build units. Remember in SupCom1 where it took almost EVERYTHING to build that EXP unit? Remember it taking almost 1 hour to build? Not here, you can build 5 King Kriptors in like 3 minutes...only to have them all destroyed by 30-40 Tech1 like tanks. Lame. There is no emotional attatchment to your units that took everything you had to build, all the time invested....gone. This game is all about who can bump out EXP units first. Period. Oh, btw......did I mention the Pop Cap was dropped down....to 200? Lol....SupCom1 is and will be THE best rts on console yet.
  • Um, I'm pretty sure this is just a map pack on the 360 - the additional units and tech tree upgrades are for the pc version only. At least, that's how I understood the press release...
  • @#16 - That is quite worrying, and the description on the marketplace doesn't say anything about the new units either so if thats the case then 800msp is far too much.
  • lol, they pulled the map pack content off of the marketplace...
  • so how do i get it then
  • @19 Don't know. But like #17 stated...800 msp is WAY TOO MUCH for some damned map packs. Why in the F--k does PC get units and tech tree abilities and console gamers just get the f-ing maps? WTF!
  • Yhy would I possibly buy this DLC if it does not add any new cheevos? I mean really..........
  • I'm kinda upset. That's not fair that the pc edition of supreme commander 2 gets new units but the xbox gets none only a couple maps for 10 dollars. I do like the maps. I played on one the other day and had some fun. Is there a reason that xbox couldn't get units?
