SEGA has announced that it's working on a new third-person adventure starring Marvel's red, white and blue superhero, Captain America. Players will take on the role of the iconic star-spangled crusader, with a fluid melee combat system and dynamic platforming, according to the press release.
The story, penned by Marvel Comics writer Christos Gage, takes place during World War II and will see Cap battling against the Iron Cross, the Hydra Army and his Nazi nemesis, Red Skull. Obviously, you'll have Captain America's adamantium shield at your disposal in combat as a defensive and offensive weapon, and he'll even be able to scale walls and execute devastating melee moves to take out multiple enemies.
Gage - noted for his work on a number of Marvel stories including Avengers: The Initiative, Captain America, Spider-Man and House of M - has written the story to tie-in with the upcoming Captain America movie, but has added some extra twists and unique action sequences for the game.
Captain America: Super Soldier is coming in summer 2011. Check out the first screens below.
