In five years time, Square Enix is hoping to be one of the top three publishers. It's plan? To make the most of its biggest properties, which involves turning around Deus Ex titles for the next decade and perhaps even re-examining the Final Fantasy franchise, if previous claims hold any water.
"We have dozens of IPs, some of which we wish to build into franchises," said Square Enix boss man, Yoichi Wada in an interview with MCV.
"Deus Ex 3 is something we're trying to revive," Wada added. “We want to keep on producing profit from that IP for the next ten years."
Square Enix will continue to get behind the Final Fantasy franchise too, which Wada said is a "bread-earner" for the company and "has always been profitable."
Wada wants to continue expanding both the Deus Ex and Final Fantasy franchises and "would like Final Fantasy to continue as long as there are the customers who support Final Fantasy."
