Sonic Free Riders' Weapons Revealed In New Video

Sonic Free Riders sees everyone's favourite blue hedgehog coming to Kinect on launch day, with a hoverboard racing game that enables you to blast your rivals with all manner of quirky weaponry like all good kart racers. Except Sonic Free Riders isn't a kart racer... You get the idea.

Weapons in the game include Octo-ink for slipping up the competition, a soda rocket you can shake-up then watch explode for a speed boost, a tee shot for whacking golf balls at other racers, a bowling strike for flattening anyone ahead of you, and a target torpedo that you throw at your rival to blow them up. Nice.

Sonic Free Riders is coming to Kinect on November 10th.

  • Pretty cool.
  • Day 1 Purchase. Nuff Said.
  • now i can say im gaming to exercise...love it...
  • @3 Why am I not surprised? =P I heard that you don't need Kinect to play this game. If so, I'm really considering buying this game.
  • @5 on the box near the end of the video there is a sticker reading "Requires Kinect Sensor" so I assume that you will need Kinect to play.
  • I can only think of how many of us would fall over doing that last lean that fella did lol.
  • #7 LOL!!! I thought the exact same thing. That may end up being an ER trip for me. HAHAHA!!! I have not been that flexible since my 20's.
  • i received this early from gamestop. Must have kinect sensor to play. I stupidly put it in to see the achievements and it updated my system so now im suck offline till the kinect update comes out
  • @9 HAHA..That sucks man! Time to get your single player backlog done! Fortunatly, i am allowed to have the dash update! :) so i can go online. This game looks good, I dont fancy looking like an idiot playing it though.
  • a wish a wasnt so tall cause theres no way a could get this cause ma head would hit off ma roof and also ma tv would fall over aswel
  • this is actually looking interesting now. Hope Kinect reads the movements well
  • Kinect reads the movements really well as i was fortunate enough to play it the other day (not Sonic Riders but others)coz it was some Kinect Event day thing. Yea i was a bit dodgy about Kinect before but after experiencing it from me its Amazing! All the haters should give it a go at least.
  • "a hoverboard racing game" Hoverboards = good times =). "Weapons in the game include Octo-ink for slipping up the competition" If it hits the ground and makes you slip they AREN'T hoverboards if they hit the hoverboard and make you slip then good times.
  • @14 it inks your opponents screen and you have to do a like waving of your hands motion to wipe it off
  • @15 You made #14 an Epic Fail.
  • First game thats actually temtepted me to buy kinect
  • You know, if this didn't have the kinect feature, everybody would be saying another crappy 3d sonic game......good job sega/microsoft for distracting people. :P
