Get a Taste Of Forza 3 Ultimate Collection With a Free Sample

Anyone with a copy of Forza Motorsport 3 can pick up a free sample of the new Forza 3 Ultimate Collection from the Xbox Live Marketplace as of today, giving punters a taster of one of the seven exclusive cars included solely in the Ultimate Collection.

The sample car in question is the 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder, which might tempt Forza 3 completists to trade up to the Ultimate Collection for the additional six cars. Or, it might be a way of leading up to Turn 10 releasing the seven car Ultimate Collection pack on the Marketplace, one would hope.

Forza 3 Ultimate Collection bundles every DLC released for the game thus far alongside seven exclusive rides - including the 1971 Chrysler Plymouth Cuda 426 Hemi, 1956 Jaguar D-Type, 1982 Lancia 037 Stradale, Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro, Audi TT RS Coupe and Audi R15 TDI  as well as 'Stig's Garage Car Pack', which includes the Lexus LFA, Koenigsegg CCX and Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. There's also some other Top Gear-related extras including interviews and an Xbox 360 dashboard theme.

Jump onto the Xbox Live Marketplace now and bag your free Forza 3 Ultimate Collection sample.

Sureley this DLC is just like a different skin for your character! Apart from this is overpriced.

I guess for hardcore fans of the game & cars it's good. I love cars and a different car would totally appeal to me, But my opinion at the top i still think is valid.

Maybe i just don't see it because i could never see myself being really into this game. Although it is good fun, Just not long term everyday all day game.

"I guess for hardcore fans of the game & cars it's good"

No, it's not. It's a slap in the face of the hardcore fans, because they've already got the game, and now they're being told "if you want these new cars, you'll have to buy the entire game over again". That's just insulting.

It's not anything like a new skin - that would imply that you already have the item, and the dlc makes it look different. That is incorrect - this is a new car with it's own unique handling etc. It would be fairer to say it's like a whole new character altogether, which allows you to get a different experience from the same game.

I presume you mean that the Ultimate Edition is overpriced, rather than the DLC? (The DLC is free). I don't know if I agree with that - maybe - I already own the game and all current dlc, so it would be for me. I'm not buying the whole game a second time. I'll wait for the new dlc to be released (if it ever is) and pick that up instead. If not, whatever. I'd be more excited in the Top Gear test track than the Stig's car pack anyway.

G.O.T.Y.-style edition? Sounds cool. I'm not going to pick it up since I already have Forza. But I think it would be sweet as an extra to all the people who actually bought all the DLC and are clearly obsessed to send them a free unlock for the seven new cars. Since they have put the cash out already.

just a thought though.

why not just add some more achievements to make the gold in every event a bit more... less boring?

I was lucky enough that my brother lent me the game recently to encourage me to play a few more racing games as i'm not that into my racers. However within a week of playing the singlerplayer and multiplayer with him and several friends i ordered the Ultimate Edition knowing it would be out within the week of my ordering it. When it comes to pricing...it was £17.99 which by my reckoning is cheaper than all the DLC put together. We also found you could install the extra cars on his console but still use his original game disc(shhh don't tell anyone, lol)which meant he also had all the cars as well as me. So in short if you own the game but not the DLC get this and if you have any friends who have been humming and haring about purchasing, it install the content on their system and give them your old disc and get yourself a playmate, lol. If you do own all the DLC though this is a rather superfluous version of the game, but perfect for those new to the game like myself.

If you don't like racers though, like me, i think you should give this a chance because as i said the most racing experience i have is Need for Speed and Burnout series' both of which are pure arcade. This game has every level of gameplay i feel from arcade to racing sim. My brother plays with most of the racing assists off and has a racing wheel controller because he owns the game purely for the simulator aspect as for me i have it just for the arcade racing aspect and play with a few assists on with a normal controller. The assists go so far as to basically make it so all you have to do is accelerate and keep on a line the game paints for you,you don't even need to brake as it does that for you. With this in mind,my girlfriend has started playing the game because its accessible to her, whose last game played was Lego Indiana Jones, lol. This is a very accessible game for all and a nice racing game to have in your collection to just play every so often either on your own or with your mates. And for £17.99 for the full game AND all the DLC brand new,you honestly can't complain really...

Also Turn 10 HAVE to offer the free sample as a download as it will contain all the graphical data for the other cars. So that when racing online with other people who may purchase the ultimate edition you'll be able to see the other cars on the track.

I see this as another kick to the teeth, I already have a bad taste in my mouth from when they stopped releasing regular DLC and the complete lack of new track DLC... I had barely played with 25% of all the cars on the disc why do I need another 7 cars, some new environments to race them in would be better.

And they did it again. Not only they slap fans who bought the game for original price along with all the DLC by releasing it all together and for cheaper (which would not be that bad I guess - they want to sell some more copies after all)

But the fact they are adding exclusive content available only in that edition (5 cars in this case) is like being kicked in the groin.

This is really not cool!!!! Someone has to stop this before it gets out of control or I will have to start buying games a year after their release packed in ultimate editions!!!

@10

I COMPLETELY agree with you. As one of the people who 100%'d this game, I too am annoyed at n00b priveleges, similar to the Borderlands and Bad Company 2 ultimate collections. All this VIP and Cerberus and whatnot 'buy new' incentives are not really paying off, apart from the Map Pack 7 news yday, and all of us enthusiasts who wait impatiently for these games to come out on day one, get nothing in return for it.

I'd love to get back into Forza 3 again, but as no.5 said, add some more achievements, OR add some more incentives to play online, like Blur with it's COD style levelling system! :D

they eventually offered the CE stuff as dlc, so i doubt this will stay exclusively on the ultimate for long. and i hope you're not just voicing your displeasure here, since the forza forums would be a better place for all of this.

Pretty irritating that as a Collector's Edition owner with all DLC to date, I have to buy another copy of the game to access these cars.

The only reason the CE stuff was put on the marketplace initially was to raise money for earthquake victims in Haiti. I'm not praying for another natural disaster to get 6 new cars, but I'm pretty dissatisfied with Turn 10's support of this game.

I just picked up World at war a month ago for this very reason. They screw you out of the gate and then they eventually lower the price. I can't always do it this way, but I will agree with #10 and start making it my practice to buy games after they get a second release with more content.

Turn 10 really slapped their fans in the face with this one.

"Oh, what's that? You've been playing this game since release and you've bought all the DLC, etc? Haha, we don't give a shit, you'll have to buy the new edition if you want this exclusive stuff."

Arseholes. The DLC for this game is over-priced. Great game, but for the extra cars you get the price point is too high.

And of the extras, the only one I really want is the McLaren MP4-12C. Good deal for people who are just getting the game, but shit for those of us that got it early on.

If they sold cars singly, I might have bought a couple.

Yea I really hope they come up with a game of the year edition soon. There's so many cars I'd love to drive but 400 per pack doesn't seem worth it to me. Hopefully Forza 4 has all of these cars, and more.

So do I. They should do like what they did for Forza 2 but it would probably take up 3 discs
