With Halo Wars' online stat-tracking initially set to be removed following a planned transition to Halo Waypoint, fans can today breathe a sigh of relief, as those plans have now changed and the stat-tracking will continue to function as normal, meaning that you'll still be able to access your Halo Wars stats for the forseeable future.
"Plans have changed and Halo Wars stat-tracking will continue to be supported after all. In other words, you, the Halo Wars fans, spoke and we listened. 343 Industries and Waypoint are in the process of investigating alternate ways of continuing to support Halo Wars stat-tracking, and while exact plans have yet to be formalised, Halo Wars fans can rest assured that they will continue to be able to access their game statistics online," reads a post on the Halo Waypoint forums, announcing the decision to abandon plans to shutdown Halo Wars stat-tracking on December 15th.
Following an impassioned outcry from the Halo Wars community, 343 Industries "decided that the current plan of action was not in line with how we have always intended to support Halo games and the Halo franchise in general." The forum post then followed up by re-assuring fans that this isn't just a delay and that their stats will be safe. Title Update 5 is also still on the way to fix Theatre issues that some players are experiencing.
So, on December 15th, the Halo Wars and Halo Waypoint forums will merge, but nothing else will change, meaning you can carry on playing the RTS 'til your heart's content.
