Those who had feared that BioWare had simply forgotten about Mass Effect 2 - our Game of the Year 2010 - now that they've announced the finale in their trilogy can sleep soundly in their bed tonight.
Over on the Cerberus Daily News channel, within the main menu of Mass Effect 2, BioWare has announced that they plan to cease their in-game daily news updates on January 24th. Aside from that, Mass Effect 2 players can expect a week of news posts leading up to "a downloadable content release" as well as an additional two weeks prior to Mass Effect 3's launch.
Considering that Mass Effect 2's DLC has been getting progressively better - in fact, we actually awarded Lair of the Shadow our DLC episode of the year - and with it sounding like there is one piece of DLC left, here's hoping it's an Awakening-sized expansion. You know, one that will bridge the gap between Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3. If not, we'll take a Bully-esque expansion where Shepard gets his kicks causing trouble around the schoolyard, told through a series of flashbacks.
