Sniper: Ghost Warrior Sequel Confirmed

Sniper: Ghost Warrior did solid business for its developer, City interactive, despite mediocre or derisive review scores, which is why it's perhaps unsurprising to learn that a sequel has been confirmed in an interview with Eurogamer.se, conducted earlier today.
City Interactive's Chief Producer, Michal Sroczynski confirmed to the site that a Sniper: Ghost Warrior sequel is indeed in the works, although the game hasn't yet been titled. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 seems like a fairly safe bet though.
Apparently, the game will utilise Crytek's CryEngine 3, which is also powering an epic portrayal of a destroyed New York City in Crysis 2. Hopefully, this means that the Sniper sequel will be a pretty game to look at, at the very least.
The developer is hoping to remedy the issues that plagued the first Sniper: Ghost Warrior, while City Interactive's enlisting of ex-Codies Creative Director, Stuart Black is unlikely to be a factor, as he's currently working on a "story-driven WWII shooter". Unless maybe Sniper 2 is doing an 'Enemy at the Gates'? We'll find out in due course.
