Is Square Enix Cooking Up a Final Fantasy XIII Sequel?

Genuine Final Fantasy sequels are rare. In fact, they're almost non-existent, as once the game's narrative is done, the franchise moves onto a new set of characters and and a new world. Not so with Final Fantasy X-2, which to our knowledge was the first and only actual sequel to a Final Fantasy title, continuing with the same characters within the same world, in X-2's case, it picked up with Yuna and her girlfriends on a search for FFX hero, Tidus. We seem to recall that was the basic premise anyway...
It looks as though Square Enix might be looking to repeat the trick once more with Final Fantasy XIII-2 if a domain name spotted by internet super-sleuth, superannuation is any kind of indication. The domain name for FinalFantasy13-2Game.com has apparently been picked up by the Corporation Service Company, who act as Square Enix's registrar and have acquired domain names for titles like Mindjack in the past.
According to Famitsu [via 1UP], Square Enix also has an event in the offing, known as the Square Enix 1st Production Department Premiere, which is scheduled to take place this month. This could be perfect timing for a new Final Fantasy announcement, as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Final Fantasy Agito XIII and more are rumoured to feature. Could Final Fantasy XIII-2 pop up at the event too? Perhaps, but we'll still put this one down as a big fat speculative rumour for now anyway.
