The Cursed Crusade
The Cursed Crusade Gameplay Trailer Cuts Up The Middle Ages
Written By
View author's profile

The Cursed Crusade might be grounded in real world history, but the supernatural story involves heroes Denz and Esteban fighting to save their cursed souls from eternal damnation. Something we do on a daily basis.

Set in 12th Century Europe, The Cursed Crusade boasts accurate European locations, a raw, gritty look and plenty of blood-spattered hack and slash action in both single-player and online or local split-screen 2-player co-op.

Atlus has released a new trailer showing some gameplay from The Cursed Crusade, which is packed with clashing swords and shields, fast paced swordplay and more, as the video charts Denz and Esteban's journey through Europe to Zara and Constantinople where the duo hope to find riches, fuelling their curse.

The Cursed Crusade is slated for a summer 2011 release. Check out the new trailer.

Never even heard of the Publisher or Developer, but it kinda just looks like a generic hack and slasher

@5 Yeahh... but only if its pulled off right. Dante's Inferno is a great Hack and Slash, where as Ninety Nine Nights is pretty average.. Gotta have the right people doing it

Lukewarm here -- could just be the outfits, but looks like a non-stealthy Assassin's Creed.

The story will have to sell it. I'm waiting to place final judgement.

@6: This is in no way related to that "spiritual sequel" to demons soul that was an article quite a while back, is it?

It looks very good graphically but I don't know if my inner Assassin Creedness will allow me to fight willing as the Templars. Tough decisions ahead!

So... Dante's Inferno with less God of War and more Assassin's Creed then?

That would actually suit me quite nicely, but depends if it's any good; more details please.

Dante was as much hack n slash as it was platformer. I found those pieces between levels very annoying and unecessary. Darksiders, Bayonetta and God of War3 would be my 3 top picks for last year. This looks medicore but might just turn out to be awesome. Gotta see more of it^^

Atlus game, so this is an immediate buy for me right there. on top of that, this is one of two games coming out this year that actually use Western Medieval Martial Arts correctly, so even further buy there. Can't wait.

If these Europeans of as yet indeterminate nationality have American voice overs there will be consequences...

Atlus' games are notorious for being difficult to find in stores after initial release, so if this turns out to be good enough to buy, I'm getting it soon.

this game looks pretty darn good. Hopefully there will be a nice pre order incentive. Looks like a cross between AC and Dantes Inferno

THIS CAN´T FAIL!!
blood-spattered hack and slash action from the 12th Century.
It looks like a cross between Dante´s Inferno and Assassin´s Creed.
And the Co-op is a great bonus! Absolutely a first day buy for me!
