Red Faction: Armageddon
Fresh Red Faction: Armageddon Screens Tunnel Onto The Interweb

We rather like Red Faction: Guerrilla, so the prospect of Red Faction: Armageddon is an enticing one, as the game's new hero, Darius Mason continues the good work of his fellow freedom fighting family member, Alec Mason, wielding a big hammer with gusto.

This time however, Mason will find himself smashing through both the EDF and the native aliens, who aren't taking too kindly to your presence on their planet. Luckily, you have an array of guns at your disposal too, such as the Magnet gun, which you can use to play with and manipulate any metal object.

It looks like mechs make a welcome return too, which is most definitely very good news. Check out all 21 new screenshots in the gallery and keep your sledgehammer at the ready for Red Faction: Armageddon in May 2011.

Still seems like they went the wrong direction with this, screens don't feel like RF at all with the whole alien thing going on.

introducing a bunch of aliens and putting it all underground when the core element of Red Faction is destroying buildings and things....Hmm. im dubious how it will work.

Ill play it for sure. It looks like they added aliens to the original, and BEEFED up the graphics. Hope there's NO online achievements, because I can already tell it will be a dead community.

This does not seem like RF at all to me. But monsters do look cool and you can still destroy shit. Will most likely get it for PC when price drops in half. Won't be amazing, but should be a solid game nonetheless!

Looks good -- hope it plays good and there's a decent story, because those are more important elements. I'd give it a go.

@3 Have you ever played RF 1 or 2? The core elements in those games were destruction, but not necessarily of buildings. RF1 was set underground in Mars too.

It's an interesting direction to bring the franchise regarding the aliens but I fully expect this to be an awesome game.

@6 What are you basing the assumption that the MP will be dead on? They haven't released any details on the MP, and RF:Guerillas MP was one of the best and most fun I've ever played, the community lasted a pretty long time. Not all MPs need to last like COD or Halo.

Really looking forward to this, they need to start releasing some MP details soon.
