Great offer but sucks it's US and UK only.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:24 AM
Awesome, I was gonna pick this up with leftover points from black ops mapsMonday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:29 AM
if your game cant sell, throw free stuff inMonday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:29 AM
crap, i just spent my last 400 points yesterday, lol.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:33 AM
So Canada is left out? What a surprise. Played the trial before the big update. Will have to try it again to see the difference.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:35 AM
Might pick this one upMonday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:37 AM
Wasn't completly impressed with the trail when it first came out, it was okay but nothing "omg must buy now 8|", is this worth the 400 points?Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:37 AM
@ #2, look's like you got thumbs down for saying your purchasing BO maps, lol. There's some sad kids about these days. Anyway, is Hydrophobia worth purchasing? It got some stick on its release, but apparently there's been a big patch or something?Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:43 AM
Seriously does DED do anything to sell this game?Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:44 AM
Too sad it's US/UK-only. Maybe I'll NOT buy it due to this fact :P ^^ I've originally been interested in it and at 400 it's a steal ... but on the other hand I've got way too much stuff lying around here unplayed, anyway -.-Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:45 AM
lol so what about the people that paid the original amount? FAIL... also, double fail at region exclusivity. Microsoft, YOU SUCKMonday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:47 AM
can't pass on the 400 priceMonday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:50 AM
Seriously, I get thumbs down aswell, the internet is full of sad little pricks. Please don't thumb me down again, whatever would I do all this online bullying. Freaks.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:54 AM
I just had to buy Risk, didn't I. In the trial it was fun, and it was fair. But in the full game the Computer has all the luck and constantly kills your troops. In my opinion it should be free. Anyway, anyone who's picking this up, hope you enjoy it and have fun :DMonday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:55 AM
Was already planning on grabbing this -- BONUS!Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:59 AM
Pretty fun game actually. Don't know why everyone bags on it all the time.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:59 AM
@3 like Bulletstorm lolMonday, January 31, 2011 @ 10:00 AM
@11 You do realize that each country has certain rules and regulations in regards to how sweepstakes like this work right?Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 10:01 AM
Region exclusivity on contests has to due with laws, kids, not Microsoft being jerks. Well, most of the time it does... Anyway, I played the demo both pre and post update and was debating it at 800, but with the price drop, I will be grabbing this today.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 10:03 AM
@18... Yeah you're right, Canada has so many different rules and regulations than the states when it comes to sweepstakes -_-Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 10:03 AM
@16 more than likely, evreyone played it before the big patch for it. not only did it lengthen te trial, but fixed a huge amount of bugs and such. i was stoked when the price dropped to 800 permenantly but 400 is basically giving it awayMonday, January 31, 2011 @ 10:05 AM
Runners up for US only? Or 5 for US & 5 for UK? or possibly split?Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 10:05 AM
If those of us that picked up Hydrophobia before it became the Deal of the Week miss out on this, then it's a huge Fail.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 10:13 AM
@20 Which is a damn shame as Microsoft (and others) offer quite a lot of promotions/sweepstakes that are generally better than what we get. Best thing about our sweepstakes is the fact we get badass gamer pics for free.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 10:14 AM
@23 how is it a huge fail? Of course your missing out. You didn't buy it during the deal. It's funny your even surprised or expect to be part of it. This happens all the time, and it always works out for people who wait.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 10:17 AM
i love the official xbox website, every link i click i seem to get the oops sorry something went wrong, even the bloody hydrophobia sweepstakes info... grrr let alone i cant even send messages via xbox.com now as it gives me an error every time!Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 10:20 AM
@13 If you're that "not bothered" about it, why do you keep complaining about thumbs downs? People will do it, you can't change that fact, and they'll do it even more if they think it will piss off the OP more!Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 10:27 AM
I can't even buy the game here in Brazil!Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 11:52 AM
I already got it like an hour ago. I was meaning to get it for 800ms but then I heard of this promotion and decided to well. This is awesome bonus. For once patience paid off^^Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 12:02 PM
Great Deal that i wil be doing in a hour.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 12:17 PM
There's a question I'm shocked nobody asked. If you bought the game before, even back when it was a piece of trash for 1200MSP (like I did. It's okay, I laugh at myself), are you still entered?Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 12:18 PM
Why do I only have 390 Microsoft Points at a time like this?!Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 12:21 PM
guys... if you haven't been paying attention lately to "dotw" & sales from almost every dev on your dashboard.. You should wait for content to go on sale before buying anything @ full price. Chances are it will go on sale sooner or later. I've purchased roughly a dozen games for around 20-25 bucks.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 12:23 PM
That's some horrible justification on the last line. :P As for the game, I played it and hated it, then they changed all of the controls so I might give it a second chance.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 12:28 PM
Again US and UK only... all these "prizes" are never ever for any other country. Why is that? It's not forbidden to give prizes in other countries. And if there is a country that you can't win prizes just exclude that country not just the whole world... again FAIL. This only pisses people off that don't live in the US and UK. Anyway still gonna get Hydro, because at 400 it's a steal. Just don't think of these stupid prizes 90% of the people can't even win because it's only US and UK.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 12:39 PM
@33 My feelings exactly. I've never paid full price for a arcade game yet. Be a little patient, everything goes on sale eventually.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 01:01 PM
Im sold! Glad i didnt get this game when it came out. Especially since its half price and they recently updated it with new graphics and controls so im downloading it now!Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 01:32 PM
Just bought it, liked playing the demo but didn't have 800 points, no I DO have 400. Sold!Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 01:46 PM
the game was poor, and this seems a bit needy, sometimes you've got to put your hands up, not everything can be a successMonday, January 31, 2011 @ 02:34 PM
@24, most of those sweepstakes are also invalid in Quebec, which gets back to the regional restrictions. Anyway, it is a shame that there aren't things like this for other regions of the world. I don't think I have seen anything this big offered in Canada, mostly just an occasional free game or a new console (I'm playing it now, do I really need a new one?).Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 03:49 PM
I'm live in England and I was thinking about buying this, but the competition has me scared. The last thing I want to do is win and be forced to holiday on one of our manky beaches. Broken glass amongst the thousands of pebbles, dog turds in the sand and used condoms floating around in the sea, which, by the way, I hear is a lovely shade of brown this time of year.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 04:17 PM
I played the demo and really didn't like the game at all. Sounds like a good deal for people who've been waiting to pick this up though.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 04:38 PM
So just to clarify, you don't have to download some sort of registration gamer pic or anything?Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 05:01 PM
I tried the demo wot the hell is the scotish guy saying XD nothing specialMonday, January 31, 2011 @ 05:19 PM
What if we already bought it? Does that give me an automatic entry or do I need to redownload it?Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 05:25 PM
Picked it up today and really enjoying it but I do feel sorry for the ppl who spent the original 1200mspts when it came out. That's why I always wait on arcade games.Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 08:59 PM
Awesome! I'll definitely get this!Monday, January 31, 2011 @ 09:12 PM
on the fence with this! will check the forums and decide later on!Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 02:30 AM
Was going to pass this up, but @ 400 pts I think I'll take a another look. May well be worth it at that price.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 02:43 AM
Wow, they will have to sell a hell of a lot of copies to make up for all the money they will spend on the competition. Good luck to them and if I have any spare points I will get this game. I love competitions even though I have never won anything.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 05:45 AM
Very nice offer! Not only do we get a great game that I have been meaning to play for a while at 400 points but a chance at some prizes too, cool!Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 11:11 AM
Awesome the way Dark Energy Digital is fully behind this game. I gotsta download it this week. Maybe some Aqua also.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 03:25 PM
@52 Ignorant and a bigot? The United States has about 310 million people. The UK has about 60 million. Lets round up and say combined they have 375 million. The world's population is just shy of 7 billion. You're right, it isn't 10% of the world population, it is far lower, closer to 6%.Tuesday, February 01, 2011 @ 10:20 PM
Sweet US and UK only, my favorite type of comp!!! Kind of getting sick of this shit. The least they could do is include us in the runners up prize, that would have been enough for me. Happy I didn't waste my money supporting this game now, even though I did enjoy it

Heading up this week's water-themed Deal of the Week (regular DotW and XBLA post coming later, folks!) is Hydrophobia Pure, which is retailing for 400 Microsoft Points on the Xbox Live Marketplace, and will be available at 50% off until February 6th.
But, if the discount alone isn't quite good enough for you, then developer Dark Energy Digital has something up its sleeve to sweeten the deal.
Anyone over the age of 18 who downloads Hydrophobia Pure will automatically be entered into a sweepstake for a first prize worth $4500. The lucky winner will be able to choose a cruise vacation to a total value (including spending money) of $4500. This applies to US residents only, although UK residents can select a beach vacation to a value of $3,000 with a further $1500 for applicable prize taxes and fees. An additional 5 runners-up will each win themselves 4000 Microsoft Points to lavish on whatever they choose from the XBL Marketplace.
"This is a great offer; at 400 Microsoft Points there has never been a better time to dive in and experience the changes we have made to Hydrophobia – AND the sweepstake makes this a perfect storm," said Hydrophobia's Joint Creative Director, Pete Jones.
