Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is set to get a massive fuel injection with three new doses of DLC that will untame Lamborghinis, unleash Porsches and offer an eight-player open world mode packed with new events to engage in all over Seacrest County. The packs will start to land from February 22nd with the subsequent two packs releasing over the next two consecutive weeks.

'Armed and Dangerous' will be the first pack to speed in on February 22nd, adding two brand spanking new game modes, expanding the game's online aspects. 'Most Wanted' is one such mode, where the cops are out to bust one racer while fellow racers strive to protect the target in an open world. The other mode is 'Arms Race', which is a frantic, no-holds-barred race to the finish line with a full arsenal of weapons primed and ready to blast your rivals off the road. 'Armed and Dangerous' will have three new achievements and will cost 560 Microsoft Points.

'Lamborghini Untamed' will be the second DLC pack introducing three new Lambos - namely the Diablo SV, Countach LP5000 QV and Sesto Elemento - in both standard and cop flavours, with 10 new events and four new achievements. It will be available from 1st March for 560 Microsoft Points.

And finally, 'Porsche Unleashed' will bring three new Porsches to NFS: Hot Pursuit's enviable garage of supercars, with the Porsche 911 Turbo (1982 Edition), Porsche 959 and 911 Speedster. The DLC will also add a further 10 events and four achievements for 560 Microsoft Points on March 8th.

Good old Criterion. We haven't been spoiled with DLC for a racing game this much since the developer went crazy with free content in Burnout Paradise. Keep an eye out for the Hot Pursuit DLC from February 22nd onwards and check out the new content announcement trailer here.

  • Way too much money, it's like they're milking the money out of us. What is this, COD?
  • Yep, did not see that since Paradise. But that was free content at that time :-|
  • ill probably get the first DLC since it adds new modes to play
  • Are you kidding? 560MS points per pack is ridiculous!
  • Here is to hoping they release a 'bundle' at some point for 1200msp including all of these. Or even better? 1600msp for all 4?
  • I agree with all. Probably get this first pack and the super sports pack I missed, but I will wait for bundle of dotw.
  • I'll wait for DOTW
  • They should be 240 each.
  • These should be f*cking free
  • I am with all of you. NO WAY I am buying 3 DLC's for $7 each. NO WAY ! They can kiss everybodies ass. I was gonna keep this game cause I heard of new DLC but 3 of them for $21 and 11 achievements..screw them. thanks for making up my mind very quickly. its being traded in for Bulletstorm. Take your con-artistry and have some lunch with guys from Activision. I am sure they would like some developers back from EA !
  • First off, this game has been a pretty good success, so it has definitly raked in good money. They should lower the prices considerably, to give back to the people that have supported the game by buying it. It's gonna be redicilous when these 3 DLC packs will cost more than the actual game itself a few months from now, if it already won't. And what the hell? The price for these three is about 50% of the game when it was brand new! These packs doesn't add anywhere near that much content, so seriously? What the hell?
  • Actually, after checking the two stores I usually purchase games from, one sells it for £23.99 and the other £25.99. Give it a few more weeks and the actual game will be cheaper than these packs that got a fraction of the content.
  • I really don't see why everyone is complaining about the price for this. Sure, there were a lot of free updates for Burnout, but the vast majority of them just made it so that people who didn't buy the payed updates could still play with the people that did. There were only two major free updates for Burnout that changed a lot without buying extra. As for price, these packs are cheaper than the packs in Burnout (and most other racers). I recall the legendary cars, toy cars, and boost specials coming around the same time frame, and they cost a lot more than this. And unlike most other racing games (such as Forza), we also get to see some new game modes. I for one happen to be quite excited to grab this dlc.
  • lol@13 I'm not even gonna try to make a rebuttal. Misplaced values are misplaced.
  • I've been waiting so long for a good NFS, and having a Diablo again, hell yeah I'm buying. To me, it's worth the price. The other two? Maybe i'll wait for DotW.
  • @13...Wow! I wish I had as much discretionary income as you do! Personally I think paying over 20 dollars for 6 cars and 2 new modes is one of the bigger rip-offs I've seen on xbox in some time. Edit- I also noticed that MW 2 is available on games on demand for $60. Perhaps the people purchasing that will also throw down on this dlc.
  • This is bull tbh, I was hoping the dlc didn't have chievos but now seeing the price its made me more angry >_
  • meh, i'm interested, but not at that price. i'll wait for the inevitable dotw thanks.
  • F*ck em I'll waste my money on another game instead and wait for a sale sometime soon. The only way to protest against high prices is not to pay them, they will soon get the message. There are enough racing sim out there to buy instead. Shame though thought this was one of the best so far.
  • Can't agree more. I bought the game for £25, so paying £14 more for a few little extras, no thanks. I can think of a few better things worth saving 1700 MSP for. If they go an sale I will, maybe half price, or a bundle, but with new Mass Effect 2 DLC looming, I'm yet to be swayed.
  • I, for one, will buy these packs. All of those complaining about its price, there is a simple solution: Don't buy them or, even better, find a new job that pays better. If you can't afford gaming, change hobby, easy as that.
  • Sure the price is a little extreme but I'm still pretty excited for this new content. And one more thing what does DOTW mean? Sounds like another acronym like DLC or something like that.
  • Wow i say thats cheap here in the UK it's only like £5 man you guys need to stop complaining about every dlc that comes out! Great Value for money
  • I think the main issue here is the time frame of release. If they released 1 pack without announcing the others then people would see a new pack and go for it. Its the fact all 3 come within a few weeks of each other. A discount pack containing all 3 would make sense and would probably stop so much complaints. I'm undecided if I will get them or not.
  • Seems like a lot gamers ar epaying a lot more for titles these days. Need4speed £40 + 3DLC = £55 my mate bought the first dlc and now i cannot play online with him as I haven't downloaded. Bit silly really as once you buy no one will want to race with anything but the new cars, so gone are the days of my porsche spider. GAY
  • Too expensive, especially in the weeks where the House Party promotion has dropped the price of new arcade games down to 800, I'd much rather get Beyond Good and Evil and Bejewled Blitz, two entire games, for less than these packs. Disgraceful
  • Well it looks like I am not picking any of them up. Screw you EA. I agree with #26. Except I will pick up Torchlight and Beyond Good & Evil HD.
  • @ #25 All you have to do to race online if you don't wanna buy the DLC is download the FREE v1.2 file which will allow you to race online against people with the DLC.
  • Im sorry but im not paying over 1600 points for a few new modes and cars. NEXT!
  • I might buy one more of them, but if Criterion seriously thinks they can charge 560MSP three times they're less brilliant than I thought.
  • DotW meaning Deal of the Week. Criterion to blame? We don't know, right. Maybe it's EA or Microsoft and Sony etc..anyway i will buy it all so there.
  • Thing is, the total price of these three packs exceeds over half the costs of the game when it was BRAND NEW. And how much does it add? Nowhere half as much. In a short amount of time, the game itself will cost about as much as the DLC packs. EA would do well do reduce the price, which in return will increase the number of purchases. It's good for those of you that got more money than sense, but just because you can afford it, does not mean you should buy it. This is a pretty crappy deal
  • Man the 2 new modes definately as this is awesome online but the car packs seem a bit steep, at least with forza u were getting tracks and more cars. It's not like the aren't any lambo's or porches already jeez! This is all EA same as online passes or project 10 dollar as it's known.
  • I'm loving this game so much right now!!!
