X360A Review: Bulletstorm

High scores are essentially meaningless at the end of the day. Generally, a high leaderboard position is fleeting as more and more people blitz your hard-earned points tally until you pass the point of caring. And unless you're Billy Mitchell or Steve Wiebe competing for Donkey Kong supremacy, accumulating points is just a secondary or even tertiary concern for the majority of players.
Enter Bulletstorm, whose unique skillshot mechanics put the high score at centre-stage, making the action feel somehow old-school yet simultaneously fresh and exciting. Question is, can People Can Fly and Epic Games spin the concept out across an entire game and its various modes? For the most part, the demo generated positive buzz, but that was a mere sliver of gameplay.
As ever, the proof in this gigantic, semtex-filled, profanity-packed pudding is in the eating. So, did Bulletstorm go down well for us or did it leave us sat on a toilet with stomach cramps, diarrhoea and chronic farting?
