With a Bulletstorm brewing this week as the game prepares to rain down upon North America today before hitting Europe on Friday, EA, People Can Fly and Epic Games have announced the first paid DLC pack for the game, which is set to appear on the Xbox Live Marketplace later this spring.
Adding three new maps to Bulletstorm's multiplayer Anarchy mode and two to the infinitely replayable Echo mode, the Gun Sonata pack also introduces a couple of new leash enhancements to boot. The three Anarchy maps are called Sewers of Stygia, Hotel Elysium and Villa, while the two Echo maps are called the Guns of Stygia and Crash Site.
The new Anarchy maps offer plenty of extra scope for working together to rack up huge co-op scores, whereas the Echo maps see Final Echo soldiers dealing with the fallout of their crashed ship in Crash Site and Guns of Stygia has a captive commando escaping from an enemy prison. All that matters really though, is that there's more cannon fodder to transform into twitching meaty chunks while watching shiny numbers all add to that gigantic high score and a place on the leaderboards.
Two new Leash enhancements - the Flamingo and the Pulp - round out the Gun Sonata pack, which is available in spring for 800 Microsoft Points. Check out our kick-ass review for the definitive verdict on Bulletstorm.
