EDF! EDF! EDF! Ahem, excuse me. Got lost in the fervor there for a second. You'll understand my excitement though, as Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon has finally received a conrete release date, via the game's Facebook page. Originally slated for "Spring" and tacked for March 1st by most retailers, the game was pushed back for unknown reasons, though presumably to put polish on the GOTY 2011 we all know it will be... But seriously, I actually hope not too much polish went into it, because to me, what made 2017 so endearing was the simplicity. Pick your guns, find a good strategy... profit! But judging by the game's $40 price tag, marking it as a budget title, we should see that old charm in full effect come July. On top of a 3-player Live-enabled campaign, 6-player "Survival" game mode, 150+ weapons, new enemies, four customizable armor sets, jetpacks and optimized vehicles, there really isn't much more to ask for.
Get ready to blow up some cities and maybe even kill a few bugs and robots on July 5th in North America. No European release date is known at this time.
