The first trailer for dictatorial strategy game, Tropico 4 has emerged from GDC today, depicting an idyllic island paradise (that's not at all like Cuba. Honest, guv) just ripe for a re-elected El Presidente to exploit or maintain as you see fit. There's 20 new missions promised for Tropico 4, spread across 10 new maps, all of which will test your leadership mettle.
You'll have to appoint your ministers and allies, as you deal with rising superpowers like China and put your various social and economic policies in place. Then it's just a case of either doing your utmost to please the people or making them agree with your policies by stomping on them with a big figurative jackboot. Add interactive natural disasters, like volcanoes, droughts and tornadoes into the mix, and El Presidente will have a lot on his plate.
Whether you keep the people of Tropico happy or subjugated will be up to you, but ultimately, you'll want to keep you're bank account fat while remaining in power by any means necessary. Tropico 4 is due for release in August 2011. Check out the new trailer.
