Tuesday, 26th February, 2008 – 11am PST – Presenting explosive action in a unique and provocative World War II scenario, Turning Point®: Fall of Liberty™, the alternate reality shooter from Spark Unlimited™, is now shipping to U.S. retail stores nationwide Codemasters® announced today; the title’s UK launch will follow on March 14th.

Pitching gamers into a WWII like no other, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty is set in an alternate 1953 where, following the fall of Europe, Nazi forces launch an invasion on the gateway to the United States. Opening with decimating attack on New York, players assume the role of construction worker Dan Carson caught in the middle of the blitzkrieg.

As the city is taken block by block, players must survive the initial assault before regrouping with a team of resistance workers and lead a fight back against the oppressors. With the Third Reich’s sights set on the seat of government, the action takes players to Washington D.C. and, eventually, to a startlingly different London, which has been flying the Swastika under Nazi rule for over a decade.

Prepare to fight afresh on these very different WWII battlegrounds when Turning Point: Fall of Liberty arrives for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Games for Windows®. See Carson in action and join the resistance online at www.turningpointgame.com

Any chance of this game ending up better than the demo was? If not, this will be horrible.

I, like 90% of most gamers I'm sure, are sick of WWII shooters. Notice how Half-Life 2 was so successful? People like innovation when it comes to FPS, not regurgitated junk. That doesn't mean the re-invention of the genre, just some nice new touches is all that a game needs to be great.

I'm afraid this just won't do well. 2008 has some pretty impressive titles lined up and this will crash and burn just like TimeShift and Hour of Victory did last year.

The game looks terrible .. but the idea isn't all that bad. Even though it's WWII, the twist of it being fictional about of what "could have happened" is kinda cool. Still not gettin it though...

Why doesn't anybody like this game? I played the demo and loved it! I have the game pre-ordered and will pick it up later today. While it's true I've not over-saturated my gaming history with WWII games, I believe things like the human shield ability put Turning Point above most FPS's I've played. The story is really interesting, and any argument about the graphics would mean nothing to me because I know better than to judge a game solely (or even largely) on graphics. If you don't like this game then fine, why don't you just ignore this news post and go spend your time on one you do like?

to stuffgamer1: stop being such a homo, and let eceryone else have there views.

i generally agree with everone elses thoughts. the demo was terrible, and i'm sick of using old weapons like thompsons, and kar98k's. let's keep churning out lasers and chainsaw mounted machine guns.

yes it's an ok concept, but if they keep churning out old war games, why don't we have one that isn't based around the allies. maybe the germans? that would be different.

and how about a game from a different war? i'm sick of WWII

I haven't played the demo...but looking at the screenshots the graphics look like they are the same as like the original Call of Duty was. Also...i agree with whoever says that graphics aren't everything, having a good storyline is important to a game too...and the idea of an alternate reality WWII sounds kindof interesting. (Certainly isn't your standard WWII game)

Some of you people are so pathetic, this is game has great graphics, so they don't look like Oblivion, so they don't look like Gears of War, guess what, THEY'RE DIFFERENT DEVELOPERS Fable 2 doesn't exactly have GTA4 graphics -.-

It looks good, the story sounds good and I think it'll be worth the money paid, the only thing I will see as a flaw is multiplayer and I wouldn't play that anyway

The demo for this game was terrible. The company itself has admitted that, and said they have done a huge graphics overhaul. If they have, then that helps. Just the poor use of the Unreal engine to get over. Personally, whilst the demo tried to stop me playing this game, the story line has enough potential I will at least give it a shot....

the graphics were a disappointment on the demo for sure, but this game reminded me of a FPS on the PS2 as far as AI and just the gameplay in general. HUGE disappointment for me

To xTenebrous...
I'm sorry but you are insane. This is a fucking hideous game with PS2 quality visuals and the gameplay is just as bad. I don't see how the devs would be able to somehow fix this wreck of a game in months time. You can't just give a game a huge graphics overhaul in such a short time.
Regardless of how terrible it's sure to be I'll be renting it for shits and giggles.

I was expecting so much from this game but the demo was terrible. Honestly, if they wanted it to sell they shouldn't have released a demo.
I'm not saying people can't like it. But my $60 will be well spent elsewhere.

I almost feel bad for the devs. They're hyping their game up so much with these developer diaries, interviews, having a collector's edition, etc, yet it's just such a terrible game. I expect this to be one of the titles that GameStop has loads of used copies nearly falling off the shelf due to people believing these dev hypes and rushing out to buy it, only to trade it in days later.
