Konami has announced that Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 is set to join the Xbox Classics range and receive a permanent price cut, reducing the price tag to an RRP of £29.99. You'll be able to grab PES 2011 at this new lower price from April 1st.

"PES 2011 represents a huge step forward for the series and its new lower price will be a welcome chance for football fans to sample the sheer skill and artistry the game offers," commented Jon Murphy, European PES Team leader.

Released in October 2010, PES 2011 saw the series undergo a whole series of changes, including tweaks to the control system, overhauled animations and a whole array of gameplay additions. It's also the only football game to feature the officially-licensed UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa Cup and UEFA Super Cup competitions, as well as introducing the Copa Libertadores, South America’s most important club-based competition.

Is it worth the new price? Well, that's what reviews are for! PES 2011 will be re-released on April 1st on the Xbox Classics label for £29.99. Goal!

with fifa being the power house it is i dont see this series going anywhere, which is a shame considering the fun i use to have with PES games. Never had a good soundtrack tho.

Picked this up for £7 in my local Cash Converters 5 weeks after release, these games loose value so fast and are redundant in 12 months

Great gameplay => better than Fifa => but bad online modes = worse than Fifa.

So many bugs and glitches in Fifa, but I played it more than PES.

If it was even £14.99 on release day I still wouldn't buy this shite. PES hasn't been good on next gen consoles full stop. They were good on PS2, shite ever since...

At least FIFA have innovated, refined & polished their games every year. PES 2011 was supposed to be the turnaround for Konami and tbh, I didn't notice any real changes from 2010!

The non-licensed leagues and clubs is inexcusable these days too...

@6

If you didn't notice any changes from PES 2010 to PES 2011 then you either never played any of them or are completely blind.

and the 'non-licensed leagues and clubs' is fixed with one download of an option file that the people who follow PES create year in year out, and the quality of the kits/badges are up there with FIFA thanks to PES' great editing suite. It's not an issue if you have a USB stick and a brain.

£29.99?!

I remember a time when classics/Platinums/Player's Choice were £19.99! It's not worth getting those versions if they are only £10 off from their original versions.

@6 you haven't played PES 2010 AND 2011 if you think its utter crap.

i am big PES fan but never delusional, PES 2008 AND 2009 were horrible but 2010 made a drastic change and looked very good in terms of gameplay and engine

The only people who are gonna buy this now are those accustomed to Fifa who just want to point and laugh at PES.
